    Date: Friday 14th to Sunday 16th November 2025

    Time: Competitors’ Meeting. Friday 14th 12:30 pm.  Show starts at 1:00pm

    Venue: Clandeb Equestrian Park, 353 Pukeuri Oamaru Road, Oamaru, North Otago

    Ribbons: to 6th Place

    Prize Money: Prize money will be determined by entries in each class.  One entry – no prize money. Two to Three entries – 1st place prize money only.  Four to Five entries -  1st and 2nd prize money only. Six plus entries – 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize money.  Halter, Lead Line/ Walk Trot classes – no prize money.  Prize money may be substituted for product prizes.

    Refunds: Competitors must produce a vet certificate or Dr’s certificate within 7 days of the first day of the show to obtain a refund.  In this instance, 75% of the total entry will be refunded.

    Dogs: All dogs MUST be on a leash at all times.  Failure to comply WILL be cause for removal from the facilities.

    Yards: $15 for one day/night, $20 for two days, $25 for three days.  (24 hours is considered a Day).  Please book a yard on your entry form. There are a limited number of yards.  Preference will be given to those whom are camping over.  Only horses competing at the show are eligible for a yard.  Stallion Yards by arrangement.  Horses attending, but not showing must pay the ground fee.

    HOT Electric tape pens: Horses and ponies must be individually penned behind a reasonable sized hot tap yard. Tape may be checked for voltage.  Insufficient voltage will result in the horse being yarded or paddocked at the persons’ responsible expense.  This is at the discretion of the CEP management.

    Camping: Shower, toilet and kitchen facilities are available. Camping is $10 per vehicle per night.  Those camping do not pay the ground fee.  Intention to camp must be noted on the entry form.  Those competitors not staying at the facilities over night pay the ground fee of $10 for the duration of the show.

    Rubbish:  Please take all your rubbish away with you.

    Food Onsite:  We plan to have a food caravan for a majority of the show. “Coffee and Cones”.  Please support a local business.

    Sat Night Dinner: WWRC will provide salads and bread for the small cost of $5 per person. BYO meat to cook on our BBQ. Alcohol permissible at these facilities, but be very careful with glass please.

     

    Hi Points Awards: Hi Point Trophies & Rosettes will be presented at the conclusion of the show.

    Entries Close: Friday 7th November 2025

    Entry Fees: $10 per class unless otherwise specified. Payment of fees must be received by closing date otherwise late penalties will apply. Children’s Walk Trot classes are $6

    Entry Form: Please use an official separate entry form (with all contact info given) for every horse/rider combination.

    Numbers: NZWRF numbers are to go on your entry form and horse numbers only to be worn. If your horse does not have an NZWRF number, please see the secretary on the morning of the show for a day number - you will not be able to enter the ring without a number. Only competitors with an NZWRF number will have their show points collated for Hi points for the season. These numbers are free. Contact the Secretary for NZWRF for your number.

    Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted until 30 minutes before the class at the show with a penalty of $5 per class and must be paid in cash or internet banking.

    Protests: Any protest that may affect the placing in a class, as per NZWRF rules must be lodged in writing accompanied by $25 to the show manager.

    Please Note: This show is under the control of Show Management /WWRC Committee and run under NZWRF/AQHA-NZ rule books. All persons who enter the grounds, do so at their own risk. Indemnity to sign with entry form.

    ARRIVAL ON GROUNDS: Please complete your arrival/departure date information on your show entry so that grounds, facilities and yards are available for your use when you arrive.

    Please note: We welcome competitors to use the kitchen and help themselves to tea and coffee but the food supplied on the day in the office is not for competitors, this food is for show staff only.

    HALTER CLASSES: Appaloosa, Quarter Horse & Paint Horse halter classes will be run in accordance with ApHANZ, AQHA & PHANZ rule books. Horses entered in the App, Paint or QH sections must be registered with their respective associations & owners of horses in PHANZ a& ApHANZ must be current financial members. Quarter horse owners do not have to be members. Registration papers are to be carried. There will be no pending of registration papers for horses over 2 years of age. If there are six or less halter entries for the show, the minimum mandatory events will be held.

    GRADE HORSE: Any breed of horse that is not a registered Quarter Horse, Paint Horse or Appaloosa may enter Grade horse classes.

    IN HAND TRAIL Non Points: Class A: Open to all horses 3 years old and under that have NOT previously been shown under saddle. Also, to Beginner Combinations and those new to Western Showing.

    Class B:  Open to all other competitors whom don’t fit in the Class A category.

    PERFORMANCE CLASSES: Will be run in accordance with NZWRF rule book.

    RANCH RAIL WALK / JOG FUNDRAISING CLASS: This is a fundraiser class to help support the continued running of our shows. Ribbons only will be given for this class.

    COWBOY CHORES FUNDRAISING CLASS: This Class may involve the consumption of Alcohol.  No horse required.  Prizes will be given for this class. Sponsored by Clandeb Performance Horses.

    PERFORMANCE CLASSES: Will be run in accordance with NZWRF rule book.

    RANCH RIDING: as per NZWRF/AQHA Rule book -Any horse entered in Ranch riding is not eligible for entry to any Western Pleasure class

    LEVEL 1 CLASSES: As per AQHA Rule SHW415 Horses regardless of their age may be ridden one handed in a curb or two handed in a snaffle bit. See Rulebook for eligibility.

    CHILDREN'S CLASSES: Children may enter lead line or Walk/Trot classes, but not both. Children entering these classes also may not enter any other ridden classes. LEAD LINE - Horses/Ponies must be led by an adult over 18 years of age. A lead rope of at least 2m long must be attached to the shank of the bit or a halter that is under the bridle. Lead Line & walk/Jog classes can be English or Western attire.

    AMATEUR /NOVICE AMATEUR: Every person competing in an amateur class must possess current individual NZWRF amateur card or a copy of an NZWRF Amateur card. Eligibility must be confirmed to the show management for every show entered.

    ROOKIE RIDER: Any rider who has not won an open or age division class in any of the three designated rookie classes as at 1st August 1990, or has not earned an accumulation overall of 25 Rookie points in Rookie classes. Those eligible to ride in Rookie classes may ride a horse of any age two handed in a snaffle bit or hackamore but must use one hand if using a curb bit.

    JUNIOR/SENIOR HORSE: Horses 5-years-old and younger may be shown in a snaffle bit, hackamore, curb bit, half-breed or spade bit. Horses 6-years-old and older may only be shown in a curb bit, half-breed or spade bit as per rule book.

    JUNIOR/SENIOR YOUTH: Junior Youth 13 years & under, Senior Youth 14 - 18 years. Age as at 1st August. All youth must wear tagged helmets. Junior Youth may ride any age horse two handed in a snaffle bit.  Senior Youth must bridle up in accordance with their horses’ age.

    BEGINNER CLASSES: There will be NO CANTER/LOPE in these classes. Horses of any age may be shown two handed in a snaffle bit. Riders may compete in either Western or English attire but not a combination of both.

    PHOTOGRAPHER:  We have an official photographer taking candid and official photos throughout the show. Arrange with Katie what you would like and what small fee is required.  As this is WWRC first show, we will require photos of our Champions and Hi Points place getters.

    By entering this competition, you are agreeing to the Health and Safety Terms set by Clandeb Equestrian Park (CEP) and the Management.

    CEP and staff take full care but no responsibility for loss, damage injury or death to visitors, clients, or their property (including their horses) while on these premises.

    Waitaki Western Riding Club have been made aware of the conditions of hiring these facilities.

    I have been made aware of these terms and will follow them.  I have been made aware of the hazards. I take responsibility for my behaviour and actions.  I take full responsibility for the actions of any horse/pony in my care that I bring on to Clandeb Equestrian Park and acknowledge that CEP have endeavoured to make this visit as safe as reasonably possible.
