The Cynthia Peterson Legacy Fund is dedicated to honoring the remarkable career and unwavering dedication of Cynthia Peterson to the Broward County Medical Association.

With three decades of service as BCMA's Chief Executive Officer, Cynthia has been an invaluable asset, shaping the medical landscape of Broward County through her passion and commitment.

In recognition of her enduring legacy. Eligible Broward County residents enrolled in or accepted to an allopathic or osteopathic medical school, or students attending an allopathic or osteopathic medical school in Broward County, may apply.

Recipients are selected by the Foundation upon review of the application and supporting materials. The dollar amount of scholarship(s) may vary dependent upon available Foundation funds.

Application Instructions

The entire application must include:

 Completed application form

 Personal statement from the applicant reflecting on applicant's career goals, see criteria on pg. 4 (max. 800 words)

 2 letters of recommendation from persons other than family members, documenting applicant’s integrity, interpersonal skills, and potential as a future member of a healthcare profession

 (1) Medical school transcript (copy or unofficial transcript acceptable), or (2) final transcript from pre-medical study PLUS letter on medical school letterhead verifying that the applicant has been accepted for enrollment
