Second Prize: $150
Third Prize: $50

One cash prize per person.

Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area's Annual Photo Contest begins October 10, 2025 and ends December 5, 2025 by 5:00 PM. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest.

• The photo must be taken within the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area. (Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla County, Alamosa National WIldlife Refuge, Baca National Wildlife Refuge, Monte VIsta National Wildlife Refuge, or Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.)
• The photo must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame.
• Violators will be removed from the contest, stripped of any prize, and banned from entering future contests. 
• Entries will not be accepted unless submitted via the official contest channel. Entries not submitted through the form will be deleted.
• Entries will be judged by the community. A second form will be posted for voting after first contest has ended. All decisions are final.
• Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not confirm to stated contest rules. 
• By entering the contest, entrants agree that photos submitted can be used by the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area for advertising purposes with photo credit.
• Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses
• The winner will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. If no response is received after three business days, a new winner will be selected and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant SdCNHA a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivate works of the entries, in a whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any propose, including but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area and its website, and commercial products, any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible.
