The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
It is our pleasure to assist the most vulnerable in our communities.
Currently we are accepting applications for Christmas Hampers and Gifts for Children (0-17).
While The Salvation Army endeavours to meet the needs of everyone coming to us for assistance, the size of the demand has exceeded our capacity. For this reason, we are introducing new eligibility criteria.
Who is Eligible?
The Salvation Army exists in three communities across the Capital Regional District. The Salvation Army location closest to your living address will be The Salvation Army to serve you. Applying to a unit outside of your area, may result in your being redirected to a more appropriate location. Proof of address will be required at the time of pickup.
You are eligible for assistance if your combined annual gross family income is at or below the following income levels (line 150 of most recent tax assessment of all family members).

Below, you will be asked to declare your combined household income. Please note, you may be asked to provide proof of income for all members of your household before your application is approved.
Households with an income level higher than that outlined may be considered for assistance, on a case-by-case basis. Please be prepared to share why you are applying for assistance if your income is above the low-income threshold.
The purpose of this assistance is to ensure individuals and families have the means to provide a special meal at Christmas as well as a gift for each of their children. The Salvation Army acknowledges the significant expenses individuals and families juggle, and it is our hope to alleviate some of that pressure for those most at risk.
