  • This purchase contract is pertaining to a puppy out of:

    • Sire: Vince (BOSS Am GCH Brighton Duck River Vince FTI) AKC Reg #SS45760203
    • Dam: Brandy (Duck River's Hide Your Crazy) AKC Reg #SS31413801

    All AKC registration info, Microchip info, and Health Records will be given to the buyer separately. 

    Sellers in contract pertain to: Jessica Smith and Brittany Swanzy of Westlane (aka: Westlane Dogs or Westlane Labradors)

    Buyer(s) information will be submitted to AKC for your puppy's registration paperwork.

  • Westlane guarantees that your puppy is free of life-threatening diseases or disabilities at the time of sale. Each puppy is thoroughly examined by our licensed veterinarian prior to leaving our care.

    To qualify for an immediate replacement or refund in the event that a life-threatening disease or disability is discovered, the following conditions must be met:

    Veterinary Exam Requirement - the buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours (3 days) of purchase, at the buyer’s own expense.

    If a life-threatening issue is diagnosed during the examination, we do have a refund/return policy - failure to meet any of these requirements will void the eligibility for a refund or exchange. 

    • The puppy must be returned to Westlane within 3 days of the veterinary exam.
    • A written statement from the examining veterinarian, clearly outlining the diagnosis, must be provided. 
    • Return shipping or transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. 
  • This puppy is being sold with LIMITED REGISTRATION. This means that it cannot be bred and if doing so - any offspring from him/her are not eligible for registration with the AKC, CKC, or any recognized registry. However, with Limited Registration, the purchaser may still participate in the following events:

    • AKC and CKC-sanctioned activities & events, excluding conformation shows.
    • UKC and IABCA-sanctioned activities & events, including conformation shows.
    • Example of activities & events: Obedience, Rally, Agility, Scent Work, and more.
  • This puppy is sold as a companion pet first and foremost and is to be loved, cared for, and treated as a valued member of the family. Breeding this puppy, or allowing it to be bred, will be considered a breach of contract, and may result in legal action or the forfeiture of it back to Westlane.

    The buyer agrees to uphold the following standards of care at all times:

    1. General Health & Wellbeing
      • Maintain the puppy at a healthy labrador weight into adulthood
      • Provide routine veterinary care, including vaccinations, deworming, heartworm prevention, flea/tick control, etc.
    2. Shelter & Living Conditions
      • Ensure the puppy has access to clean water at all times
      • When outside provide a secure backyard, such as either a securely fenced yard (minimum 5 feet high), - or - a kennel run measuring at least 6x12 feet.
      • When outside provide protection from extreme weather (ex: a dog house, covered kennel, and/or patio shelter).
    3. Daily Care & Humane Treatment
      • The puppy shall never be tethered or chained for extended periods.
      • The puppy shall not be crated for excessive durations that may result in physical or psychological neglect.

    Rights to Repossess

    Failure to meet these requirements constitutes a breach of contract. Westlane reserves the right to reclaim the puppy without compensation if there is evidence of neglect, abuse, or failure to meet the care standards outlined in this agreement. 

  • Westlane strongly recommends basic obedience training. The buyer has read Westlane's Puppy Guidelines and Rules of the Road - information that is shared on their website (under litter's tab).

    The buyer understands that basic obedience classes will not only benefit their puppy but will also help them form a stronger bond with it.

  • At NO TIME shall this dog be given to the Humane Society or to an Animal Shelter.

    If the buyer's circumstances change and he/she is no longer able to take care of their puppy, Westlane will ALWAYS take it back. The puppy will either stay with Westlane (be bought back from Buyer) or they will assist the buyer in placement/rehoming.

    Westlane has 1st right of refusal, meaning if the buyer sells the puppy to a 3rd party without offering Westlane the opportunity to purchase it back first, Westlane can then sue the owner for damages.

  • Westlane has bred this litter with great care and in good conscience, using sound genetic stock with verified health clearances.

    We agree to the following:

    If the puppy is diagnosed with severe hip or elbow dysplasia before the age of 26 months, and the condition is deemed severe enough to interfere with the dog’s ability to function as a companion pet, Westlane will, at its discretion, provide either a replacement puppy of equal value, or a refund up to the purchase price.

    This guarantee is contingent upon the following:

    • The condition must be documented and confirmed by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).
    • A full copy of the OFA report must be provided to Westlane for review.
    • The dog must not have been bred prior to diagnosis.
    • The diagnosis must not result from trauma, injury, over-exercise, obesity, or neglect on the part of the buyer.

    Please note:
    There are no 100% guarantees when working with living creatures. Westlane does its due diligence by providing health clearances for all breeding stock, which are displayed on our website with direct links to OFA and DNA records. This information is also available upon request via email.

  • Refunds or exchanges are not guaranteed and will be made at Westlane’s sole discretion, based on the specific circumstances involved.

    To be considered for a refund or replacement, all of the following conditions must be fully met:

    • Original Ownership - The puppy must still be owned by the original buyer listed on the purchase contract.
    • No Breeding - The puppy must not have been bred or used for breeding under any circumstances.
    • Spay/Neuter Verification (if applicable) - If the puppy has been spayed or neutered, the procedure must have been performed no earlier than 18 months of age.
      • A signed letter from the licensed veterinarian who performed the surgery is required. This letter must include: confirmation of the date the procedure was completed as well as the veterinarian’s full name, clinic name, address, phone number, and license number. 
    • Return of Registration Papers - All original AKC registration papers must be returned to Westlane at the time of refund or exchange. 

    Failure to meet any of the above requirements will result in automatic denial of any refund or replacement request.

  • In the event of a health-related dispute regarding the puppy, Westlane reserves the right to consult with and defer to its own licensed veterinarian. Any decisions regarding the validity of a health claim, replacement, or refund will be made at Westlane’s sole discretion, based on the professional opinion of Westlane’s veterinarian.

    This Health Guarantee Does NOT Apply to:

    • Injury, disability, or death resulting from: Illnesses, infections, or accidents occurring after the puppy leaves Westlane’s care.
    • Neglect, abuse, or lack of appropriate medical attention
    • Failure to maintain proper veterinary care, including but not limited to: Routine vaccinations, Heartworm prevention, Worming. Flea and tick control
    • Improper nutrition or obesity
    • Over-exercising or unsafe physical activity, especially in developing puppies

    Financial Responsibility - Westlane is not responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred by the buyer. Unless explicitly agreed to in writing by Westlane prior to the service being performed, all such expenses remain the sole responsibility of the buyer. Including but not limited to: Examinations, Medications, X-rays, diagnostics or laboratory testing, surgeries or other treatments

    Shipping & Transportation - The buyer understands that Westlane is NOT responsible for ANY shipping costs, even when replacing a dog.
