  • What is 'Good Guest Dimond'?

“We want to be good hosts. To be good hosts, we need good guests.” -- Corrina Gould

Good Guest Dimond works toward a future where Dimond District residents, business owners, schools, and community groups engage thoughtfully with the Ohlone land on which we live. We actively and joyfully collaborate with the Lisjan Nation in the collective work of rematriation.

    Our work includes:

    •  Reflecting on what it means to be a good guest on Indigenous land, and collaborating with Dimond community groups who want to take action toward being good guests here.
    • Learning and sharing what we know about local Indigenous history, the Lisjan Nation, the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, and the Shuumi Land Tax.
    • Encouraging Dimond residents and businesses to give Shuumi.
    • Organizing outings, gatherings, and other events to build relationship with the land in the neighborhood, and to increase our understanding of local Indigenous practices and initiatives.
    • Co-creating community as we learn and take action together.

    Who Are We?

Good Guest Dimond members live in the Dimond and do this work as volunteers. We are learning together and building relationship with one another as we plan and implement the group’s activities.  If you are interested in joining us, please reach out.  If you are new to this kind of work, we welcome you and can offer support. Anyone connected with the Dimond neighborhood can become a member.
