HC Art Galleries 3rd Annual Juried Members Show

    May 28 - July 1, 2026

    Reception Thursday, May 28, 6 - 8 p.m.

Current Hillsborough College Art Galleries Members (all levels, including students) are invited to submit one artwork for consideration in HC Art Galleries Annual Juried Members Show.

Artworks must be made within the last two years and be within the size requirement, but there is no restriction on medium, subject or theme. We encourage our members to submit their strongest work for the juried exhibition.

    Not Yet a Member?

If you are not yet a member of the HC Art Galleries and would like to submit to the Annual Juried Members Show, please visit our Patreon to purchase a paid membership. Rates start as low as $24/yr.

Current HC students are able to sign up for a free student membership using their hawkmail account.

HC Art Galleries Memberships are available to all community members, not just HC faculty, staff and students. To learn more about HC Art Galleries Membership levels and benefits, please visit our membership program home page.

Membership does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition, as the works selected for display will be chosen by our juror.

    Instructions:

Artists must submit a high-quality digital photograph or file to represent their artwork for the submission. For 3D work, we recommend taking photographs of two dominant views and combining these for a single, side-by-side image.

    • Image must be saved as JPEG file type
    • Image size no larger than 2048 pixels (height or width); recommended 300 dpi if feasible
    • 200 MB max file size

    Other items of note:

    • The maximum dimensions for any submitted artwork, including the frame, is 48 x 48 x 48 inches. Anything larger will not be considered for the exhibition.
    • The artwork should be made within the last two years
    • If accepted, you will need to provide a physical version of the artwork and must be "exhibition ready" (see below under heading "Delivery of accepted artworks" for more details).
      • If you submitted a video/film that was accepted into the show, the gallery will coordinate with you for the appropriate display by providing a TV and/or projector.

    Juror:

We are pleased to welcome Ry McCullough, Chair of the Art & Design Department at the University of Tampa, as juror for HCC Art Galleries 3rd Annual Members Show. McCullough is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans printmaking, collage, sculpture, drawing, sound and writing. His work explores abstraction and the dynamic tension between the known and the unknown.

    Awards:

1st place (best in show): $400
    2nd place: $250
    3rd place: $150
    Five honorable mentions: $50

  • Deadline for online submission:

    April 16 at 5 p.m.

    Artist notification:

All artists who submit their work for consideration will be notified on May 4 regarding whether or not their work was accepted by the juror for the exhibition. If your work was selected, it must be "ready to hang" / "exhibition ready" (see below) by the delivery date.

    Delivery of accepted artworks:

If your work is selected for exhibition by the juror, the artworks must be delivered to Gallery114@HC Ybor City Campus by appointment on one of these dates:

    Monday, May 11, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    Tuesday, May 12, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    Wednesday, May 13, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    Thursday, May 14, 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

The gallery is located on the first floor of the Performing Arts building at the HC Ybor City Campus (Campus Map).

Any artwork(s) delivered to the gallery must be "ready to hang" or "exhibition ready." In museums and galleries, this refers generally to artwork that simply needs to be placed on the wall or on a pedestal without additional preparation by the installation team (for example, a digital artwork or photograph would need to be printed and framed, preferrably with wire on the back). Check out this guide for detailed information and images.

    Return of Loan

Following the last day of the exhibition, your artwork must be picked up by appointment on the following dates/times:

    Monday, July 6, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    Tuesday, July 7, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

If you are unable to pick up your artwork at the date/times specified above, you must contact the gallery in advance to set up an individual appointment (artgalleries@hccfl.edu) during the gallery's open hours.
