    Accepted Media include: Acrylic, collages, gouache, graphite, lino-cut, mixed media, oil, pastel, pencil, relief prints, scratchboard, sculptures, three dimensional,  watercolour and multi-media panels.
    Fiber (No more than 50% needlework).
    Multiple panels are considered one piece of art, and must altogether be within the dimensional limits.)

    NO PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE ACCEPTED.
    NO COPIES ~ Only original prints may be submitted. Entries deemed to be copied will be rejected.
    NO DIGITAL ART WILL BE ACCEPTED.

    ORIGINALITY
    Art work must be original in concept, design and execution, and must be the sole and original work of the artist.
    Artwork produced at a workshop, or in a class and which has been demonstrated on by the instructor may not be submitted.
    Copying of another artist's original work without their permission, or of a published professional photo without the photographer's permission is not permitted.

    TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

    • All paintings must be suitably framed with the appropriate hardware using “D” rings (no saw hooks or screw eyes), taut wire of sufficient gauge for the weight of the artwork, and placed not more than 1/3 from the top of the frame. Those without the proper hardware will be ineligible for entry.
    • All paintings must be thoroughly dry, and suitably finished/sealed based on the medium, and framed.
    • Canvases, or wooden panels are acceptable without a frame, IF all visible edges are painted or finished, and able to accept D rings.
    • Art works on canvas board, paper or behind glass must be framed and able to accept D Rings.
    • Only original prints will be submitted (see ORIGINALITY).
    • Two proper identification labels must be placed securely on the back of each artwork, or on the base of each sculpture, showing Artist's name, phone#, Title of Artwork, Category, Medium, Price or NFS. Please use the attached identification labels - No substitutes please. Addition, to avoid confusion from loss of labels, your name and title should be printed directly on the back of your Artwork.
    • OAA release form must be signed when dropping off Art works. An acknowledgement of receipt of Art works in good condition must be signed when collecting Art work back from the OAA.
    • Accepted art shall remain throughout the entire duration of the OAA Juried Show; even when sold. A 10% commission will be charged on all sales.
    • All sales must go through the OAA.
    • ENTRY CHANGES AND SUBSTITUTIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
    • Limit of two entries per artist.
    • The entry fee is non-refundable. No postdated cheques. Entrants must be members of the Oshawa Art Association, or reside within the Durham Region of Ontario.
    • A maximum framed canvas size of 4' x 4' (1.23m x 1.23m), and a maximum weight of 40 lbs (18 kg).
    • All sculpture pieces must be self-standing/self-supporting, and easily moved. 
      Smaller sculptures should not be more than 24" x 24" x 48" (.61m x .61m x 1.23m), maximum weight 35lbs (15.6 kg), and must be structurally stable to be displayed on a RMG plinth.
      Sculptures weighing more than 35lbs (15.6 kg) will be displayed on the ground for safety, and should be mounted to a board for more stability.
    • Any work that includes electrical components must have an ESA safety designation and be clearly labeled.
      As a category A gallery, the RMG is unable to allow natural materials that may contain insects or mold to be present in the gallery. Untreated sticks, logs or found natural materials should not be included.
      The RMG maintains the right to refuse artwork that contains obscene, explicit, hateful, or racist content.
    • If any piece is heavy, please make contact with the OAA Chair for arrangements.
    • All Jurors' decisions are final.
    • The Oshawa Art Association Juried Exhibition committee reserves the right to refuse any work of art which may offend the general public.

    ARTIST'S AGREEMENT

    • I certify the proposed entries are original works of art and meet the criteria outlined in The Oshawa Art Association Juried Art Exhibition Regulations.
    • I have read the entry conditions of The Oshawa Art Association Juried Art Exhibition and accept the terms and condition of entry.
    • I hereby indemnify The Oshawa Art Association and all volunteers, and waive from any and all actions, claims and demands for damages, loss or injury arising during the time of this Exhibition, which may have been sustained by the participant named and/or their artwork.
    • I give my permission for photos of myself and my work to be released for media purposes.

    PLEASE NOTE

    • The artist is responsible for transporting artwork to and from the exhibition.
    • Art shall be delivered in person by the artist or designate.
    • The Gallery will not accept them from a delivery service.
    • All art must be dropped off and picked up on the dates and at the times listed. If unable to pick-up your artwork, please make arrangements to have it collected and signed for, by an authorized third party.
    • The artist is responsible for providing adequate insurance protection.
    • The Oshawa Art Association reserves the right to decline entry to the show to any participants who have been abusive to the OAA volunteers, and/or refused to follow the terms and conditions.

    DELIVERY AND PICK-UP OF ARTWORK

    • Delivery of Artwork will be accepted at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery on
      Thursday, April 16, 2026 between 4 - 7:30 pm.
    • All Artists with accepted pieces of artwork will be notified by phone/email on Saturday, April 18 between 5 - 9 pm.
    • Pick up of Unsuccessful Artwork. If you do not hear from us, please collect your Artwork Sunday, April 19 between 12 - 3 pm.
    • Pick up of Exhibited Artworks Sunday, May 10, 2026 between 4 - 5 pm
  • How to prepare your art work for entry.

    Use "D" or "O" rings (available at Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Michaels etc.)
    Artwork with saw hooks or screw eyes or the wire secured by staples will be turned away.

    Use taut wire of sufficient gauge.

    Placed 1/3 from the top of the frame. 

    Be sure the (framer's/glazier's) points/tabs securely hold your artwork in the frame.
