• 8th Principle Point in Time Survey

  • Dear Congregant,

Thank you for accepting the invitation to participate in our 8th Principle Point in Time Survey! Your voice and perspective matter. Our hope is that this survey will help us track our progress towards upholding our commitment to the 8th Principle. Our goal is to engage our congregation in this survey* each year, to help us identify how our members think about and act on issues of racism.

This isn’t a “test” of individual worth or morality. Rather, this survey will help us see, as a community: how much awareness we have, how comfortable we are speaking up in our daily lives, and how ready we are to engage with larger institutional change. By gathering this information, we’ll have a clearer picture of our strengths and the areas where we need more learning and support. It will also allow us to see our growth over time as we put our commitments into practice, together.

No personally identifying information is being collected and we want the perspectives of all people, not just those who are presently involved or who identify as racial or social justice advocates. Your participation is important, so thank you for taking time to complete this survey.

This survey is anonymous; we encourage all participants to answer honestly and openly as part of your own reflection of how the following issues resonate with you. You will have an opportunity to share what this experience was like after completion.
