  • Eligibility

    DSI Scholars projects are open to qualified Columbia University students, regardless of degree program. Students in Columbia affiliate programs (Barnard and Teachers College) are not eligible for this program.

    Please note that in order to be considered for Spring 2026 projects, students must be enrolled for the Spring 2026 semester. Students that are graduating in December 2025 are not eligible for this appliction cycle.

    Students are expected to be in NYC and available for in-person research during the program. 

  • Applying to More than One Project

    Students are welcome to apply for up to 5 projects per term. You must submit a separate application for each project. If you submit more than 5 applications, we will randomly select 5 of your applications for submission.

    • We encourage you to review the detailed project descriptions to ensure you meet the eligiblity requirements and prerequsites for each project.

    • To be considered, you will need to submit the following as part of your application: 

      1. Transcripts: A copy of your undergraduate and/or most recent Columbia transcripts. 
      2. Resume: A copy of your updated resume that includes all relevant coursework, projects and data science skills. 
      3. Personal Statement: Please use the space below to submit a personal statement to explain why you are interested in the specific project and highlight some of your qualifications.
      4. Reference: (Optional) You can provide the contact information for a reference. It should be someone who can comment on your research potential and qualifications for your program.
