All Runs/Walks staged on Conservancy property are provided 6 hours for your event - 2 hours for set up, 2 hours for tear down, 2 hours for your event. If your event takes place on Milliken State Park Property - total time for set up/tear down is determined by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

What will be your Route for your Run/Walk event?*
Please select one of the routes listed on the Detroit Riverfront Run/Walk website. These are the only permitted options. Routes that utilize Milliken State Park will require a permit from the Michigan DNR, events with more than 300+ that cross a city street will require a permit from the City of Detroit.If you are planning a 10k or if there is any reason you cannot use the mandated routes, please include your suggested route your event description. Approving alternative routes will be the discretion of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.

Do you acknowledge that if your event has more than 300 people and crosses a city street, you will apply for a Special Event Permit with the City of Detroit?

All approved run/walk routes on the Detroit Riverwalk utilize Milliken State Park, which is owned and operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Do you acknowledge that you will apply for a Special Event Permit with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources - Milliken State Park.

Will you be setting up tents, tables and chairs on the Conservancy's property for this event? - All tents are required to be weighted down with weights and cannot be staked. Staked tents will result in a forfeiture of your security deposit. Conservancy tables/chairs may not be used for your event.*

In order to host your Run/Walk event on the Detroit Riverwalk or associated greenspaces, the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy (501c3) must be listed as a sponsor. Do you agree to list the Conservancy as a sponsor?*

Event Catering
The Conservancy has an exclusive caterer for our café at Cullen Plaza, Robert C. Valade Park, and Mt. Elliott Park. If you plan to have any food or beverage products outside of individually packaged snacks (e.g. bananas, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.) or bottled water at your Run/Walk, you are encouraged to use our exclusive caterer and to make your arrangements directly with our caterer. If you desire to use any other vendor/sponsor/donor to provide food or beverages outside of individually packaged snacks or bottled water, a fee of $1,000.00, payable to the Conservancy, will be required 30 days prior to the Run/Walk.

Audio and Power Requirements
The Conservancy has limited 110v power available which includes 4 outlets. Any additional power will require generators. Commercial generators require a permit from the City of Detroit. Audio that transmits over 200 yards will required a city of Detroit permit.
Will a sound system be used?

Will you need to connect to the Conservancy's power source?

Do you acknowledge once your request is approved and the Conservancy confirms your date, you will have 30 days to submit your security deposit to hold your date?

Yes, I will submit my security deposit within thirty days of receiving my confirmation.
Do you acknowledge after your request is approved you will be asked to complete an official application and submit final fees that will be due 60 days prior to your event? The official application will request additional information about your event including- total number of attendees, EMS services, vendor companies (e.g. restrooms, furnishings, etc.), and Insurance and Indemnification. Routes that utilize State property, City streets or require City permits will be required to provide proof of application of permit from the City of Detroit and Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
