  • We are excited about the 2025 Electric Light Parade!  Thank you for participating in the fun community event. Safety is our first concern. Please read all the rules carefully.

    PLEASE NOTE:  YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO THROW CANDY OR PASS OUT ANYTHING FROM A MOVING VEHICLE OR FLOAT.  WE ALSO ASK THAT YOU DO NOT DISTRIBUTE ANYTHING WALKING ALONG THE CURBS.  THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN.  YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF YOU VIOLATE THIS RULE AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COME BACK INTO OUR PARADE.  IF YOU CANNOT AGREE TO THIS RULE, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP.

    The parade route will start at 11th Avenue and Polk Street and go north to Fourth Avenue.  

    NO live animals or equestrian groups are allowed.

    Please read the rules and information below to make sure you understand the requirements for this year's parade. By signing this form, you and your team agree to the terms. 

  • Friday, November 21, 2025 (or earlier if the limit has been reached) is the deadline for submitting applications.  Once 100 entries have been reached, registration will CLOSE.  We will start a wait list once we hit the 100 entry limit.  

     

  • Award categories:

    Rudolph's Choice – given to the overall outstanding entry presenting and illustrating the parade theme

    The Silver Bells Award – given to the most creative parade group or float

    The Golden Ticket Award – given to the parade group with the most Holiday spirit

    The Dancing Elves Award – given to the most entertaining parade float or group

    Best Community Spirit  – given to the most interesting, inspirational, innovative float or group, representing our community

     

    Please note you cannot win any award more than one year in a row.  This is to give everyone the chance to compete and win.

     

     

  • Rules and Information

    • This parade takes place in the dark. All entries must be lighted or glow-in-the-dark. If you do do not have some kind of lighting, your float cannot be seen from the street.
    • This is a holiday parade. All floats must be appropriate for the theme.  Center City reserves the right to disqualify entries.
    • This is a family/kid friendly parade. All entries must keep this in mind and create an entry appropriate for children.
    • All participants will check in at 14th and Polk beginning at 4:00PM.  You must enter from 15th and Polk to line up for check-in.  Please check in first to receive your number and follow the route to your spot.  We need you to line up as soon as you arrive and check in.  DO NOT SIT IN THE PARKING LOT TO CONTINUE DECORATING YOUR FLOAT.  Volunteers will direct you to your place in the lineup, so please head directly there. 
    • You will be allowed space for one truck/flatbed trailer (trailer must be no longer than 25 feet)  
    • CAR/MOTORCYCLE GROUPS can include up to 6 vehichles per entry fee. Additional vehicles will be allowed with an addtional parade entry fee.  
    • You will receive a number when you check in at the entry point at 14th and Polk.  All entries will be first-come/first-serve with no reserved spots. 
    • Those not checked in by 5:40 p.m. will be considered a no-show or will be placed at the end of the line up and will not be in running for prizes.  No refunds will be given.
    • If you have people who will be on your float, but not arriving with you, they must park their vehicle and walk to where you are.  We will not allow any extra vehicles into the parade area.  We hope to have parking available in the Sharpened Iron parking lot.  More details to come.
    • If you are a walking/dance group please note that you MUST stay with the flow of the parade.  You cannot stop the flow of traffic to do a routine, dance, etc.
    • Please keep in mind this is a family friendly event.  Please avoid the use of alcoholic beverages and profanity.  Also, please keep your trash on your float and in your vehicle to keep downtown clean. 
    • PLEASE DO NOT BRING CANDY, FAVORS OR ANY TYPE OF HANDOUT.  IT HAS BECOME DANGEROUS AND WE DON'T WANT ANY ACCIDENTS.
    • The parade will take place under most weather conditions.  Stay tuned to KGNC FM 97.9 or KGNC AM 710 and our Center City Facebook page for any announcements about changes the day of the parade.
