COURSE DESCRIPTION

Test Prep Workshops
The goal of the Test Prep Workshops is to provide skills in the three basic subject areas tested on Civil Service Tests and other standardized exams. These workshops are not tailored towards a specific exam. These areas are Critical Reading Skills, Math Skills, and English Language Arts. Instruction will focus on the essential skills in each area, the types of questions asked and the best way to respond within the limited time permitted.

The current DCAS test schedules can be located on the website: www.nyc.gov/examsforjobs.

The Civil Service Bookstore is located at 34 Carmine St, phone (212) 226-9506 and test prep books and materials are available from online vendors.

To participate in the class, students must use a Laptop, Mac, PC or Chromebook. They cannot participate fully on a cellphone, IPAD or tablet.

Students must use a Gmail account in order to access all

materials on Google Classroom. If someone needs assistance to create a Gmail account, it will be provided.

Google Chrome browser must be used.
