  • Thank you for your interest in BWISE University. This professional development program is designed for organizations that receive funding from Gilead Sciences and ViiV HealthCare to build practical skills, confidence, and community among professionals and advocates who serve Black women living with or vulnerable to HIV. As part of the application process, your responses help us understand your background, experience, and goals so we can assess program fit. Please answer each section carefully.

    Before you begin:

    • Set aside 30 to 40 minutes to complete the application.
    • You can save your progress anytime using “Save and Next” at the bottom of the page.
    • Have the following items ready to upload:
      • Your current resume or work history
      • Your personal statement (Word or PDF)
      • A supervisor approval letter on official letterhead
    • After you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your responses.

We value all forms of learning, including community training, life experience, and self-directed study.

     BWISE University is delivered online through live sessions, discussions, and assignments. Your answers will help us identify any training or support you may need to succeed in the virtual learning environment.

  • YOUR COMMITMENT TO YOURSELF AND THE PROGRAM   

  • BWISE University was created to offer an engaging learning experience. By applying, you agree to fully participate in all aspects of the program, including attending live virtual sessions with your camera turned on and being visually present, completing assignments, taking part in group discussions, and maintaining a respectful and supportive learning environment.

     

  • SUPERVISOR APPROVAL 

  • Because participation requires a time commitment, your supervisor’s approval is needed to confirm organizational support. Your supervisor, defined as the person authorized to sign your timesheet, must:

    1. Provide a written approval letter confirming support for your participation in the BWISE University workforce development courses.
    2. Attend a mandatory orientation session with you on Tuesday, February 26, 2026, via Zoom.
  • Your supervisor must agree to support your participation in BWISE University. Please upload a typed and signed letter on official company letterhead from your supervisor confirming that they:

    1. Approve your application and participation in the program;
    2. Agree to support your involvement throughout the six-month commitment; and
    3. Understand that the program includes at least two sessions each month.

    Note: Support letters must be submitted on official organizational letterhead to be accepted. Please request your letter early to avoid delays in submitting your application.
