  • Submitter's Info

This information should be for the person who is filling out this form.
  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • Campaign Background

  • Office Type (e.g. A district attorney or attorney general would fall under the Law Enforcement category. A school board would fall under education. *Multiple categories can be picked if appropriate*)*
  • What ballot line is the candidate running on? *Note: Nonpartisan and Independent are not the same! Nonpartisan means none of the candidates in the election have a designated party preference on their ballot line. This is often the case in municipal, county, school board, and judicial races, as well as the Nebraska Unicameral. Independent or Not Affiliated means the candidate does not have a party preference on their ballot line in a partisan race where other candidates may have a party preference listed. Being a socialist or being endorsed by a group like Working Families is not the same as running on a socialist ballot line or a Working Families Party ballot line.*

  • Candidate Commitments

In the following section, we ask if the candidate will pledge to various commitments. Failure to agree to any one or more commitments does not necessarily result in an automatic non-endorsement. Endorsements are ultimately decided democratically via a vote made available to all members in good standing within the chapter. However, responses to this section and others will be made available to the electoral committee membership before the electoral committee interview and will be made available to chapter membership before the chapter-wide interview.
  • If the candidate does receive the endorsement of the chapter, do they pledge to campaign as a Socialist or Democratic Socialist and to emphasise the significance of their commitment to the working class in opposition to the interests of the corporate Democratic Party?*
  • If the candidate does receive the endorsement of the chapter, do they pledge to endorse all other chapter endorsed candidates?*
  • If the candidate does receive the endorsement of the chapter and they are elected, do they pledge to vote alongside other socialist legislators and other chapter endorsed candidates as a bloc?*
  • If the candidate does receive the endorsement of the chapter and they are elected, do they pledge to attend monthly meetings with the Socialists in Office Subcommittee or other KCDSA body to support their term and accountability with the chapter?*
  • If the candidate does receive the endorsement of the chapter and they are elected, do they pledge to adhere to the recommendations of the Socialists in office Subcommittee or other KCDSA body supporting their term?*
  • If the candidate does not receive the endorsement of the chapter and the chapter chooses to endorse another candidate contending for the same position, do they pledge to drop out of, or not run in that race?*
  • Does the candidate understand that failure to uphold pledged political commitments can result in revocation of endorsement and possible public censure by KCDSA?*
  • Does the candidate commit to upholding and defending the values and platform of the National DSA during their campaign and, once successfully elected, for the duration fo their term?*
