GUIDELINES/REQUIREMENTS:
- All Tourism members are strictly VOLUNTEER basis.
- All members are expected to attend monthly meetings according to the Tourism By-Laws. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month throughout the year, except for December. Meetings are at 6:00 p.m. at the Tourism office (adjacent to the Du Quoin Amtrak station), unless otherwise stated by the president.
- Tourism By-Laws specificily state that if a member misses 3 consecutive unexcused meetings, their membership will be terminated.
- All members are expected to attend/help set up events that we host, unless prior arrangements have been made with the president.
- EXCUSED attendance is ALLOWED for the following reasons: Work, illness, emergency, family member illness or emergency and church. Group text reminders are usually sent out by the president and if you cannot attend, please comment there that you're unable to attend and brief reason as to why. This allows us to excuse the member from the meeting/event.
- If a member takes on a LEAD ROLE for an event, it is THEIR responsibility to contact one of the chair board members if they are unable to carry out the role. This is to ensure that the role is carried out for the event.
- All Tourism events are FAMILY-ORIENTED! We ask that no alcohol or drug consumption is done directly before or during our events. This is to ensure safety of all our members and our community that attends events.
- Pictures and videos are usually taken during our events.
- SAFETY is our #1 PRIORITY...whether it be to our Tourism members, vendors and community attendees! If someone sees a safety issue/violation, it is to be brought IMMEDIATELY to the president, vice president and/or director!
