Radial Arts Center Studio Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming an artist member at the Radial Arts Center! Our mission is to make more room for the arts by empowering the next generation of creatives and art patrons in a welcoming, inclusive space to learn and create. We are excited to offer artist studios as part of our programming! Artist Residents are provided designated studio space in the Center’s facility located at 5915 Maple Street, Omaha, NE 68104.

ABOUT THE SPACE

Now approaching it's 7th year, Radial Arts Center continues to make more room for artists and for the community to experience art. RAC has two artist studios and two gallery exhibition spaces that range from 200–330 square feet in our historical 1,300 sq. ft. facility in the Benson Business District. Artists and curators have access to a variety of additional equipment that can be used, and studios are equipped with sheetrock walls, new LED lighting, 10’ ceilings, with access to a paint sink and Wi-Fi internet. Each studio has access to a shared kitchen and ADA-compliant bathroom. In addition, studio artists receive support from a dedicated team of Radial Arts Center staff and volunteers.

All artists are invited to participate in at least one opportunity per calendar year to share their work with fellow studio artists and the public in a solo or group exhibition in the main gallery space as part of Radial Arts Center’s exhibition programming. Artists have the opportunity to share and sell artwork during Open Studios every First Friday of every month, during the Benson Creative District’s “Benson First Friday” event. Each Artist Resident is expected to create and produce artwork in their designated studio in a manner that is viewable by the public and serves to educate the public through such observation and through conversation and interaction with the Artist Resident. Attendance is recommended at all First Friday events at the Radial Arts Center.

Lease: 3 months / 6 months / 12 months

All applicants will be reviewed by the board of directors on a first come, first serve basis. Applications are only open to visual artists at this time.
