  • Please follow the instructions below to zero the ETCo2 on the handheld device.

Steps to Zero the CO₂ (Zeroing procedure)

    1. Ensure no CO₂ source in sampling line

    • Disconnect the sampling tube from the patient (i.e. it must not be connected to the airway)
    • Make sure the sampling line is exposed to ambient air and not near any exhaled breath, ventilator exhaust, or other CO₂ source.
    • Allow any residual CO₂ in the sampling tube to dissipate before zeroing.

    2. Access the CO₂ zero function in the monitor menu

    • On the monitor, go to Menu → CO₂ Setup (or CO₂ settings)
    • Find the option labeled “CO₂ Zero” (or “Zero”)
    • Select that option to begin zeroing.

    3. Wait for zeroing to complete

    • The monitor will perform the zero calibration (the manual suggests that you only need to zero when the prompt “Zero Required” appears)
    • Do not attempt zeroing if the temperature is not stable.
    • Once done, the monitor should indicate “Zero in Progress” or similar, then return to normal CO₂ measurement mode.

    4. Reconnect the sampling line and resume measurement

    • After zero is done, reconnect the sampling tube to the patient airway (if required)
    • Check that the CO₂ waveform and values look plausible

    Important Notes / Warnings

    • Do not zero while sampling tube is connected to patient — doing so will introduce CO₂ and lead to inaccurate calibration.
    • Temperature stability is required; if the device hasn’t stabilized, calibration errors may occur.
    • Zeroing is typically only required when the monitor demands it (i.e. when “Zero Required” appears) or when first connecting the filter.

  • Please follow the instructions below to zero the ETCo2 on the handheld device.

To perform a Sample Cell Zero

    1. Connect the CO2 Module and, wait for the sensor warm-up message to clear.
    2. Connect a Sampling accessory to the CO2 Module, and make certain that the accessory is exposed to room air and away from all sources of CO2, including the ventilator, the patient’s breath and your own.
    3. Set the Host to the zeroing function.
    4. Query the status of the CO2 Module to check that the status bit “CO2 Sensor not ready to zero,” is not set.
    5. Start the Zero. The maximum time for a module zero is 40 seconds. The typical time for a zero is 15-20 seconds.

Note: For best results, wait 5 minutes to allow the CO2 Module to warm up before performing the Zero procedure.

  • Mainstream and Sidestream / Microflow CO2 Module

While zeroing is recommended the first time a CO2 sensor is connected to the monitor, it is only absolutely necessary when the message “Zero Required” is displayed.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Ensure that the catheter or airway adapter is not connected to the patient or
close to any source of CO2 (including the patient's, your own exhaled breath
      and ventilator exhaust valves).
    2. Using any of the following methods to perform zeroing:

      - Select the CO2 parameter area or waveform area, and then select【Zero】
      button.

      - Select 【Zero】quick key→Select【CO2 Zero】submenu→select the
CO2to zero. The screen prompts【CO2 Zero In Progress…】, and the message disappears after the zeroing is completed.

    CAUTION:

Before zeroing, the BLT sidestream/microflow CO2 sensor must be connected
    with the sampling tube.

Before zeroing, the mainstream CO2 sensor must be connected with the airway
    adapter.

Zeroing should not be performed for 20 seconds after the airway adapter or
cannula is separated from the patient's airway. Wait a moment before zero
correction to dissipate the remaining CO2 in the adapter or cannula.

Zeroing should not be performed when the airway adapter or cannula is
    connected to the patient's trachea.

When the temperature is not stable, please do not adjust to zero.

When CO2 remains in the airway adapter or casing, zeroing will result in
inaccurate measurement or other error conditions. The time required for zeroing
    will also increase.

When zeroing, do not rely on gas readings.

  • Due to the rising cost of replacement parts, clippers returned with damaged casings or faulty blade attachment mechanisms are now classified as beyond economical repair.

However, we’re pleased to offer you 10% off a new unit as a goodwill gesture.

  • This code relates to a fault with the temperature sensor at the air outlet of the heater.

    1. Please switch the unit off
    2. Remove the hose and check that the following connecters are connected and the wires are properly connected within the connector blocks.

Please select No, if the wires are frayed and or disconnected from the black connector blocks.

  • This code relates to a fault with the air inlet of the of the heater.

Please check the filter on the unit that it is free from any blockages and can allow air to pass through it to the machine.
