PURPOSE:
Attendance is essential for the successful completion of the NAC/CNA Traditional
Training Program. State regulations require students to complete a minimum number of classroom theory, lecture hall, skills lab, and clinical hours. Missing hours places students at risk of not meeting certification requirements and may result in dismissal from the program per the Washington State Board of Nursing regulations.
Please read and sign the documents below to confirm you understand and
will adhere to the rules and regulations for the required attendance policy.
1. GENERAL ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Students must attend 100% of scheduled classroom, skills lab, and clinical
sessions.
- Arriving more than 15 minutes late or leaving early will be counted as an
absence.
- Attendance is recorded at the start of every session.
2. CLASSROOM/THEORY ATTENDANCE
- 100% attendance in all theory classes.
- Students must be present for the entire class period.
- Students must return from break on time.
- All missed material, assignments, and skills must be made up independently.
- Make-up opportunities for classroom or lab sessions are at the discretion of the instructor and are not guaranteed.
SKILLS LAB ATTENDANCE
- 100% attendance and participation in all required skills lab sessions.
- Students must be present for the entire skills sessions.
- Students must return from break on time.
- All missed material, assignments, and skills must be made up independently.
- Make-up opportunities for classroom or lab sessions are at the discretion of the instructor and are not guaranteed.
3. CLINICAL ATTENDANCE
- Students are required to complete all scheduled clinical hours as mandated by
the state.
- No clinical absences are permitted. Missing clinical hours jeopardizes program
completion and CNA exam eligibility.
