  • ELIGIBILITY
    Matilda Jr. is presented by Kidz Act Up (KAU) and is open to ages 7-15. (Studio enrollment is not required & certain roles may be available for ages 15-17.) This Registration Form must be completed in order to audition for a role. Please note that auditions are for the experience and casting purposes only. All actors who audition will be cast.

    Callbacks - For Principal and Featured Roles

    Actors who are being considered for featured or principal roles will be invited to callbacks on Sunday, December 7th from 10:00am-1:00pm. If your actor does not receive a callback it DOES NOT mean they haven’t been cast. Please remember that ALL actors who audition will receive a role and auditions are for the experience and casting purposes only. Callback materials are not indicative of the role your actor will receive.

    Jan 11 - Apr (12th); Sundays 9-2pm (No Rehearsal Sunday, April 5th) 
    *Ensemble actors & dance ensemble will mostly be called from 9-11am
    *Principal & Featured Roles will mostly be called from 9-2pm

    Saturday, Apr 18th 3:30-6:30pm (mandatory rehearsal)

    CONFLICTS
    It is very important that you list ALL conflicts on the audition form. This includes studio dance classes, school events, sports, appointments, vacations, etc. Any conflicts that arise that were not listed prior to casting may not be approved or may result in student being dismissed from the production.

    Students cannot have any conflicts during Saturday mandatory rehearsals, Tech or Dress Rehearsals, or for any performance dates, to be eligible for casting.

    AUDITION INFORMATION
    Please arrive at least 15 mins early and make sure you have completed and submitted this online Registration Form. Upon registration, all auditionees will receieve an audition book and should prepare their audition materials as outlined in the audition book. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in to both auditions and callbacks. Auditions, callbacks, Sunday rehearsals, and Saturday run  throughs will take place at MP Dance at 8674 La Mesa Blvd. La Mesa, CA 91942.

    NEW PERFORMANCE LOCATION!
    Tech/dress rehearsals and all performances will take place at the Wilson Middle School's Performing Arts Center at 3733 El Cajon Blvd. San Diego, CA 92105.

    PRODUCTION FEES
    Auditionees must pay their production fee deposit, or establish their payment plan, by Saturday, December 6th in order to confirm their casting. Late production fee deposits may result in the forfeit of casting.  All fees should be made through our parent portal, Jackrabbit.  Accounts will be updated and emails sent after auditions - please contact the studio with any questions.

    Production Fee Payment Structure
    Total Production Fee: $475

    $150 Production Fee Deposit due by Saturday, December 6th 
    $325 - Production Fee Balance due by Sunday, January 11th
    - OR-
    $425 - Full Production Fee paid in full by Saturday, December 6th

    *Payment plans, financial assistance & sibling discounts available. Please contact the office for more information. 

    Additional Fees
    - Lost or damaged script - $25 replacement fee
    - Garment bag/Storage bin - $30 fee (only for performers new to MPD/KAU)
    - Production t-shirts - $25 each
    - Other items that performers may need such as; tights, shoes, leotards, etc. will be shared at a later date if they need to be purchased.

    All Payments/Fees are non-refundable and subject to additional late fees if payments are not made by their due date.
