Youth in Bluegrass Contest Band Application 2026

The Ozark Mountain Music Association (OMMA) Youth in Bluegrass Contest was formerly the KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Contest held at Silver Dollar City. Entries must be submitted by midnight March 1st, 2026. Bands who qualify for the contest will be notified on or before March 15th, 2026. Guidelines: Band members must be age 21 or younger (parent participation is allowed for backup support only). Bands must have at least three members. Former winners may re-enter as long as they meet the age requirements. Individuals may only participate in one band. Instruments allowed (acoustic only): guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, upright bass. Bands will perform around a single microphone. Prize Money: 1st place-$2,500, 2nd place-$2,000, 3rd place-$1,500, 4th place-$1,000, 5th place-$500. 1st place wins an opportunity to play at the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival. If your band qualifies for the contest, detailed information and instructions will be emailed to your contact person.
