    This application is for food trucks wanting to compete in the 2026 Texas Food Truck Showdown
  • Event Details

    • DATE | Saturday, April 11, 2026
    • GRAND PRIZE | $3,000
    • CATEGORY WINNERS PRIZE | $500 per category; Categories are TBD based on submitted dishes.
    • LOCATION | Heritage Square in Downtown Waco (311 Austin Ave, Waco, TX 76701).
    • ENTRY FEE | $100; payable once accepted. Charging entry fees allow us to book the following services for our food trucks: on-site grease disposal, on-site trash disposal and power hook ups.
    • TASTY TICKETS | Trucks will receive $4 per Tasty Ticket redeemed at their truck during competition time. On average in 2024, each food truck redeemed 432 tasty tickets during competition time from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
    • OPTIONAL | Refrigerated truck access $25.
    • HEALTH PERMIT | If your truck normally operates outside of McLennan County, you will need to apply for a temporary health permit - $45. If your normal operations are within McLennan County, we will need a copy of your health permit.
    • ESTIMATED ATTENDANCE | 25,000
    • APPLICATION DEADLINE | Wednesday, January 30, 2026
    • If accepted as a Competitor, you will be notified on Friday, February 6, 2026.
    • If accepted, you will be required to submit the $100 entry fee payment within 7 business days of receiving the invoice. If payment is not received by Friday, February 13, 2026, your spot will be forfeited.

    Tentative Event Schedule:

    • JUDGING | 8-10 a.m.
    • COMPETITION | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    • OPEN SALES | 5-8 p.m.

    • The competitor entry fee is $100.

      • If you are accepted as a competitor, the entry fee must be paid within 7 business days of receiving your invoice. Invoices and acceptance notices will be sent on Friday, February 13, 2026. If payment is not received by Friday, February 13, 2026, you will forfeit your space, and your spot will be given to the next in line. 

      Refrigerated truck space is available for an additional $25, if needed.

      • For vendors needing more refrigeration space, we will have a refrigerated truck available.

      Health Permit | $45 application fee, if needed.

      • If your truck normally operates outside of McLennan County, you will need to apply for a temporary health permit with McLennan County, if chosen to participate.
      • If your normal operations are within McLennan County, we will need a copy of your health permit.
    • Contract Details 
    • PLEASE REVIEW AND AGREE TO EACH STATEMENT BELOW. BY SELECTING "I UNDERSTAND" AND SIGNING BELOW, YOU ARE AGREEING TO FOLLOW ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THIS EVENT. FAILURE TO RESPECT ALL RULES WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION AND FORFEIT OF PAYMENT OF TASTY TICKETS RECEIVED. 

    • RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION: In consideration of Competitor’s acceptance to participate in the Event, Competitor hereby voluntarily assumes responsibility for and releases, waives, acquits, and forever discharges the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and the City of Waco, Texas and their respective boards of directors, officers, agents, employees, members, sponsors, contributors, and volunteers (collectively, the “Releasees”), of and from, and agrees not to sue the Releasees on account of any and all liability, demands, losses, claims and damages of every kind, whether now or hereafter existing, arising out of, or in any way connected, directly or indirectly, with the Event or Competitor’s participation in the Event, WHETHER ARISING OUT OF, ATTRIBUTED TO, OR CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE (SOLE, JOINT, CONCURRENT, ACTIVE OR PASSIVE), GROSS NEGLIGENCE, INTENTIONAL CONDUCT OF ANY OF THE RELEASEES.

      Competitor further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Releasees from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including but not limited to reasonable attorney fees, for injury, death, loss or damage of whatever nature to any person, property, or any other claim resulting from, arising out of, or in any way related to (i) Competitor’s use and occupancy of the Premises, (ii) Competitor’s participation in the Event, or (iii) any act or omission of Competitor, its agents, employees, or independent contractors or anyone directly or indirectly employed by any of them, or by anyone for whose acts or omissions any of them may be liable, WHETHER ARISING OUT OF, ATTRIBUTED TO OR CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE (SOLE, JOINT, CONCURRENT, ACTIVE, OR PASSIVE), GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR INTENTIONAL CONDUCT OF ANY OF THE RELEASEES.

       In executing this Contract, Competitor acknowledges and represents that Competitor has read the foregoing Contract including the foregoing Release of Liability and Indemnity agreement and will be bound by this Contract when submitting an application. Competitor acknowledges that failure to comply with rules and regulations here within this Contract with result in half payment or no payment, and/or disqualification from The Texas Food Truck Showdown. Competitor further acknowledges that all fees paid by competitor are non-refundable.
