🎭✍️ Join us this spring for a rich and engaging journey through drama, literature, and the creative arts in our yearlong English course: Ink & Insight: Stage & Story Through the Arts!

In the second half of the year, students will explore power, persuasion, performance, and rebellion through the lens of Shakespeare’s plays and classic contemporary novels. With powerful writing, compelling characters, and creative expression at its heart, this course invites students to dive deep into literature while building their own voice.

Vibrations & Variables: Exploring Physical Science Through Music
(Using Mr. Q’s Elementary Physical Science)

Unlock the fascinating connections between music and science! This hands-on physical science course explores waves, sound, motion, matter, and energy with a musical twist. Students will investigate core scientific principles, like frequency, resonance, circuits, and energy transfer, through engaging experiments This two-part class combines at-home or Zoom reading prep with in-person lab exploration, using Mr. Q’s Advanced Physical Science (middle/high school) and Elementary Physical Science (younger siblings welcome).

🇪🇸📚 Spanish I – 2nd Semester
¡Bienvenidos! This fall, join us for Spanish I, a fun and supportive high school course designed to build a strong foundation in Spanish. Perfect for beginners or those wanting a confident restart, this class meets on Zoom for 1 hour. Lessons will be organizes via Google classroom, so either student or parent will need access to that. and we will use Duolingo too. 

🎓 Using the Avancemos 1 textbook (PDF provided), students will:

🗣️ Practice speaking and listening in everyday Spanish
✍️ Build grammar and vocabulary through engaging activities
🎲 Play games and roleplay real-life conversations
📖 Explore Hispanic cultures through music, video, and readings

In this relaxed art-and-literature class, students (ages 10+) combine reading and visual art using the Soul Sparklettes LiterARTure curriculum. Over 10 weeks, students complete two books, spending five weeks on each, responding through guided sketchbook prompts and light book-club discussion.

🎵 Private Instrumental Lessons
Whether your child is just beginning or ready to take their skills to the next level, private lessons provide one-on-one instruction tailored to their individual goals. Lessons are available for a variety of instruments and are designed to build solid technique, confidence, and musical expression in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Students will also gain access to enrichment materials, practice tips, and optional performance opportunities throughout the semester. Lesson times are scheduled individually based on availability.

 

Lessons are generally taught on Thursday with some Friday times available.

Class 7️⃣

🎼🎧 Music Theory Lab (40-Min Zoom Class)

Music Theory Lab is a guided online class designed to help students understand the structure of music — not just play the notes. Each week, we’ll explore rhythm, intervals, scales, key signatures, chords, form, and how these elements connect to the music students are performing in band. Through interactive examples, listening, and short written exercises, students will grow stronger in reading, understanding, and thinking like musicians — not just performers.

This class is an excellent supplement to band, private lessons, and Zoom-n-Play, and will help students become more confident, well-rounded players.

Band & Beyond uses a combination of platforms to keep families informed and students supported:

🎺 Private Facebook Group – Our main hub for program-wide announcements, class updates, YouTube practice videos, group events, and field trip info.

💻 Google Classroom – Each student also receives access to a class-specific Google Classroom with printable music, practice tracks, and optional at-home enrichment activities.

We encourage families to check both regularly to stay connected and make the most of each learning experience!

🎼 Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is vital to creating a successful and meaningful experience where students feel confident, prepared, and part of a team. We kindly ask families to make every effort to attend each class and rehearsal.

We understand that life happens! If you have a family trip or prior commitment that will cause an absence, we still welcome your child’s participation—we just ask that you list any known conflicts below so we can plan ahead accordingly.

🤒 Health Reminder: Please keep your child home if they are feeling unwell.

🔔 Important Note: The final two weeks of class, including our end-of-session rehearsals, are required attendance to ensure we’re ready for any performances or presentations.

📄 Liability & Media Release Statement

By enrolling in Band & Beyond, I understand and agree to the following:

📄Liability Waiver: Band & Beyond and its instructors are not responsible for any personal injuries, or for the loss of or damage to personal belongings during classes, rehearsals, performances, or events.

📄Health & Participation: I understand it is my responsibility to inform the instructor(s) of any health conditions, injuries, or limitations (e.g., hand/arm injury) that may affect my child’s ability to fully participate in class activities.

📄Emergency Medical Authorization: In the event of an emergency where I cannot be reached, I give permission to Terra Hunsicker and Band & Beyond to seek appropriate medical care for my child.

📄Media Release: Band & Beyond may take photos and videos during classes, rehearsals, performances, and events. These images may be used for promotional materials, social media, and shared for fun within our private Band & Beyond Facebook group.

💰 Tuition & Refund Policy

Initial Payment: All first payments must include the registration fee and materials fee (if applicable).

Minimum Enrollment: Classes and programs are subject to cancellation or delay if the minimum enrollment is not met.

Invoices & Attendance: Tuition invoices are sent every 4 weeks. If you notify me in advance of any planned absences, your invoice will reflect those dates. Otherwise, full tuition for that session will be charged.

Missed Classes: Tuition is not adjusted for missed classes unless discussed before the start of that session.

Deposits & Payments: A non-refundable, non-transferable $30 deposit per student is due at registration. This deposit secures your spot and will be applied toward your total tuition.
