  • Are you a teen looking to get involved, have some fun, and make a difference? Join the Teen Advisory Committee!

    Our Teen Advisory Committee is a committee of local Middle and High School students that partner with PenMet Parks to help plan and execute events and other recreation opportunities for local teens.

    The Teen Advisory Committee is a great way to:

    • Connect with other local teens and get involved in teen-related programs
    • Gain experience in leadership and working with others in planning events and activities
    • Obtain volunteer hours for school or to add to your resume
    • Help foster a connected teen community in Gig Harbor

    The Teen Advisory Committee meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month (minus June-August) from 4:30-6:00 PM.

  • As members of the Teen Advisory Committee, we serve as representatives of PenMet Parks and are committed to reflecting the district’s values, integrity, and positive reputation in all meetings and events.

    • Members agree to speak to and about others with respect, kindness, and courtesy at all times.
    • Members share responsibility for creating a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and participating.
    • Insults, slurs, hateful language, or inappropriate comments are not permitted in any TAC setting.
    • Discussions during meetings and events should remain constructive, relevant, and focused on solutions.
    • Members should arrive on time and prepared to actively contribute to meetings, planning, and decision-making.
    • Each member commits to bringing consistent effort, positive energy, and a willingness to collaborate.
    • Personal electronic devices may be used during meetings when necessary; however, members should make a strong effort to minimize distractions and remain engaged in TAC discussions and activities.
    • Members agree to attend at least one TAC meeting per month and support a minimum of four TAC-supported events each year.
    • Disruptive, exclusionary, or hostile behavior will not be tolerated.
