As therapists, we encounter people with a wide variety of identities and expressions, how do we approach them in a way that embraces these differences and minimizes harm? How do we apply the ethical principles of our professions in our decision making around cultural engagement. Join Nancy Hollis and Peter Lachman in discussing multicultural competency in the therapy space. This training will meet 2 hours of cultural competence requirements.
  • Training Objectives

    1. Define cultural competence, cultural humility, and intersectionality in clinical contexts. 2. Identify how implicit bias, microaggressions, and systemic inequities impact therapeutic relationships. 3. Apply social justice principles and ethical decision-making models to culturally responsive care. 4. Demonstrate strategies for self-assessment and ongoing professional development in multicultural competency. 5. Identify how to integrate trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches when working with diverse populations.
