The Ski Touring Leadership Course (Eastern) Application Form
To complete your application for Ski Touring Leadership Program, please complete the following:

This form will be forwarded to your section chair for them to complete the section endorsement.

Late applications will not be accepted. A completed application consisting of all three components must be submitted no later than December 12, 2025.

If your application is not fully completed it will be returned for completion to ensure our volunteer committee can properly assess all applications. Your Ski/Split Boarding Experience

This section will be used to assess your skills and overall suitability for this course.
Please provide a description of your resort downhill skiing/split boarding ability. How many days per year do you ski? Where do you do most of your skiing? Describe the terrain (e.g. blue, black) and conditions in which you can smoothly link turns (for skiers: with your skis parallel)
Please provide an overview of your backcountry ski touring / split boarding experience. How long have you been touring? Apx. how many days per year do you tour? Apx. how long are your typical tours (distance/elevation/time)?
Briefly describe your two most difficult backcountry touring trips, State the date completed. Include the route taken on the various objectives. Please note if the trips were done with a professional guide, with friends, or whether you organized/led the group or were a trip participant.
What equipment will you be using for this course? Please provide the brand/model/apx. age

What terrain are you comfortable in touring in? What terrain can you descend if you have to?
What is too steep for you? Do any features give you trouble?
Have you taken an avalanche safety training? (if so please provide details)

What is your experience with navigation using GPS tools and traditional compass and map
Leadership
