Thank you for your interest in joining the Wildlife Jewels® Rescue Crew, our pilot volunteer initiative supporting timely, responsible response for wildlife in need along the Southern California coast. Please complete this interest form. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be invited to orientation and training, and will receive required onboarding documents prior to activation.

Training & Commitment: Required for all volunteers: 60-minute virtual Orientation, 60-minute in-person Prop Training, any additional role-specific required training, and a brief rescue report after each encounter.*

I understand that Rescue Crew roles require training and adherence to Wildlife Jewels® safety protocols (including PPE where applicable). Final acceptance is contingent on completing required training and signing the volunteer agreement and waiver.

Participation & Conduct

I understand that submitting this interest form does not guarantee selection or placement as a Wildlife Jewels® volunteer.
If accepted, I will serve as a non-paid Rescue Crew volunteer supporting on-call pickup and/or transport of small injured wildlife at the direction of authorized responders.
I understand that capture/handling is not permitted unless I am specifically directed by permitted responders and trained to assist.
I agree to follow Wildlife Jewels® protocols, directions from authorized responders, and to act responsibly and within my physical capabilities at all times.

Role Scope & Safety

I understand the Rescue Crew works in coordination with authorized responders (e.g., permitted rehab centers); assignments are on-call and not guaranteed.
I acknowledge that volunteer activities may involve driving, carrying carriers/supplies, and navigating coastal areas.
I will comply with required training (virtual + hands-on) before participating in any pickup/transport activity. If serving in a transport role, I confirm I will have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a suitable vehicle at the time of service.

Assumption of Risk

I understand that outdoor and transport activities have inherent risks (uneven terrain, weather exposure, traffic, proximity to wildlife/debris).

Intellectual Property

I understand that Wildlife Jewels® programs, training materials, and protocols are proprietary and may not be used outside authorized volunteer activities.

**This Interest Application is not a volunteer agreement. If selected, you will be required to complete and sign the Wildlife Jewels® Rescue Crew Volunteer Agreement, liability waiver(s), and any PPE/safety and role-specific protocol acknowledgments before participating.

If selected, I agree to exercise caution and good judgment and to complete all required onboarding documents (volunteer agreement, waiver, safety/PPE policies) prior to activation.
