Thank you for your interest in joining the Wildlife Jewels® Rescue Crew, our pilot volunteer initiative supporting timely, responsible response for wildlife in need along the Southern California coast. Please complete this interest form. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be invited to orientation and training, and will receive required onboarding documents prior to activation.

Training & Commitment: Required for all volunteers: 60-minute virtual Orientation, 60-minute in-person Prop Training, any additional role-specific required training, and a brief rescue report after each encounter.*

I understand that Rescue Crew roles require training and adherence to Wildlife Jewels® safety protocols (including PPE where applicable). Final acceptance is contingent on completing required training and signing the volunteer agreement and waiver.

Participation & Conduct

I understand that submitting this interest form does not guarantee selection or placement as a Wildlife Jewels® volunteer.

I understand this interest form does not authorize me to act on behalf of Wildlife Jewels® or to engage in wildlife rescue, handling, or transport.

If selected and fully onboarded, I understand that Rescue Crew volunteers may support on-call response monitoring and/or transport activities only when trained, authorized, and directed by permitted responders.

I agree to follow Wildlife Jewels® protocols, directions from authorized responders, and to act responsibly and within my physical capabilities at all times.
Role Scope & Safety

I understand the Rescue Crew works in coordination with authorized responders (e.g., licensed wildlife rehabilitation centers), and that assignments are on-call and not guaranteed.

I acknowledge that volunteer activities may involve driving, carrying supplies, and navigating coastal environments.

I understand that certain roles may require additional training, verification, or approvals prior to authorization.
Assumption of Risk

I understand that outdoor and transport-related activities may involve inherent risks (e.g., uneven terrain, weather exposure, traffic, proximity to wildlife or debris).
Program Integrity

I understand that Wildlife Jewels® programs, training materials, and protocols are proprietary and may not be used outside authorized volunteer activities.
Important Notice

This Interest Application is not a volunteer agreement. If selected, I will be required to complete and sign the Wildlife Jewels® Rescue Crew Volunteer Agreement, liability waiver(s), and any required safety or role-specific acknowledgments before participating in any Rescue Crew activities.
