Eligibility
• Contest is open to individuals 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
• Participants must reside in the United States.
• Entries must be the original work of the contestant; group submissions are permitted, but the primary contact must be 18 or older.
• Members of The Links, Incorporated and their immediate family members are welcome to participate but are not eligible for monetary prizes.
Entry Requirements
• Video Length: 30–60 seconds.
• Theme: Videos must explain or illustrate why voting matters, focusing on civic engagement, voting rights, or community impact.
• Content Restrictions: No partisan or political endorsements. Must comply with TikTok’s community guidelines and applicable laws. No profanity, discriminatory language, or copyrighted material without permission.
• Submission Process: Upload video to TikTok using hashtag #WhyIVote
Complete the Entry Form and Release Agreement provided by The Houston Chapter (TX) of The Links, Incorporated and The Links, Incorporated (National Organization).
Judging Criteria (100 Points Total)
Accuracy & Factual Content (30) — Clear, correct, and well-integrated facts about voting.
Creativity & Originality (25) — Unique, engaging, and memorable presentation.
Engagement & Clarity (20) — Easy to follow; message resonates with the audience.
Visual & Technical Quality (15) — Strong visuals/audio; good editing and composition.
Overall Impact (10) — Inspires civic participation or thoughtful reflection.

Waiver and Release of Liability
By submitting an entry, each participant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless The Houston Chapter (TX) of The Links, Incorporated and The Links, Incorporated (National Organization), its officers, members, partners, affiliates, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of participation in the contest or acceptance of any prize. Participants assume all risks associated with creating, posting, and sharing their video content, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or claims arising from violation of privacy or intellectual property rights.
Intellectual Property and Media Release
By entering, participants grant The Houston Chapter (TX) of The Links, Incorporated and The Links, Incorporated (National Organization) a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, distribute, display, and publish submitted content (in whole or in part) for promotional, educational, and civic engagement purposes; post entries on official social media, websites, or printed materials; and attribute credit to the creator(s) when feasible. Participants retain ownership of their original work but waive any right to additional compensation or approval for use of submitted materials.
Disqualification and Compliance
Entries that fail to meet contest rules, contain inaccurate information, or violate community or copyright standards may be disqualified at the discretion of The Houston Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
Acknowledgment
Submission of an entry constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of all official rules, terms, and conditions of the contest.
