Nominate your standout athletes, coaches, and teams for this week’s GSF Weekly Awards.
All categories apply only to players and coaches from winning teams, except for the Hustle Play of the Week, which can come from a losing team.
Please review each description carefully before submitting your nominations.
1. Game-Changer (MVP of the Game)
Description:
This award honors the player who had the most dominant and impactful performance of the week — the true MVP of the game.
They made a difference with proven stats, leadership, and game-changing plays that led to victory.
Ideal Nominee:
A player whose performance defined the outcome and momentum of the game.
2. Girls Flag Football Player of the Week
Description:
Recognizes the top performer in Girls Flag Football for the week.
Nominees should display exceptional skill, leadership, and impact, often contributing to an undefeated streak or key win.
Ideal Nominee:
A standout player who led her team with strong offensive or defensive performances and consistent playmaking ability.
3. Offensive Player of the Week
Description:
Highlights the top offensive performer whose production directly fueled their team’s victory.
Stats should reflect dominance in rushing, passing, receiving, or total yardage and scoring.
Ideal Nominee:
A player who carried the offensive load, led crucial drives, or consistently made big plays.
4. Defensive Player of the Week
Description:
Awarded to the defensive standout who controlled the game on their side of the ball.
Nominees should have strong statistical backing — tackles, sacks, TFLs, interceptions, or other key defensive plays — and have contributed directly to limiting the opponent.
Ideal Nominee:
A defensive leader who set the tone and dominated with physical, disciplined play.
5. Offensive Lineman of the Week
Description:
Honors the unsung heroes in the trenches.
Nominees must be starting offensive linemen from a winning team that dominated the run game or protected the quarterback flawlessly with no sacks or pressures allowed.
Ideal Nominee:
A lineman (or unit leader) who paved the way for offensive success and consistency.
6. Defensive Lineman of the Week
Description:
Recognizes the big dawg in the trenches who anchored the defense and disrupted the opponent’s offense.
Nominees should showcase dominance with multiple tackles for loss, sacks, QB hurries, or be part of a defensive shutout effort.
Ideal Nominee:
A defensive lineman whose presence dictated the pace and outcome of the game.
7. Special Teams Player of the Week
Description:
Celebrates the player who made the biggest impact on special teams.
This can include a kicker or punter with key field goals, PATs, or touchbacks, or a coverage or return player who made momentum-shifting plays — such as a blocked kick, game-winning PAT, or kick return touchdown.
Ideal Nominee:
Any special teams player whose execution changed field position, scoring, or game momentum.
8. Hustle Play of the Week (Individual Only)
Description:
This award is open to players from any team — win or lose.
It honors the most spectacular or effort-driven play of the week — a moment that outshined everything else.
Examples include a touchdown-saving tackle, diving interception or catch, punt return TD, or a defensive player with elite stats in a loss.
Ideal Nominee:
A player whose highlight or hustle moment defines grit, passion, and determination.
9. Coaching Staff of the Week
Description:
Recognizes the coaching staff whose leadership, preparation, and adjustments led to a key victory.
This award often goes to a staff that won an important matchup or extended a winning streak that impacts league standings or rankings.
Ideal Nominee:
A coaching staff that inspired excellence through strategy, motivation, and execution under pressure.
