2026 Dragon Kim Fellowship Program Application Logo
  • 2026 Dragon Kim Fellowship Program Application

  • The Dragon Kim Fellowship Program awards community service grants to support motivated high school students to create and manage a service project. This Fellowship is in honor of Dragon Kim, a talented musician, athlete, and scholar who wanted to help others.

In the fall/winter of 2025, student teams of two-three people can apply for the 2026 Dragon Kim Fellowship Program. The Foundation will select finalists to interview in February, and announce the winning students in early March. Once chosen, these Dragon Fellows will participate in three weekends of Leadership and Business training. They will also be paired up with mentors who will check in with their team weekly, as well as virtual team calls during the summer to further continue their training.

Each Dragon Fellowship team will run their project between May and August, supported by a grant of up to $5,000. At the end of the project, Dragon Fellows will present their work to a panel of adjudicators at a final Graduation Weekend. The top scoring projects will advance to our CEO Summit where they will compete for a seat to present at our Annual Dragon Challenge event for a chance to receive additional funding and an additional year partnership with DKF.

This initiative ensures that our Fellowship program remains free and accessible to all qualified students, regardless of financial background. It represents a true collaboration: parents, students, and DKF working hand in hand to empower the next generation of creative, compassionate leaders.

Through the Parent Partnership, families help sustain the Fellowship by raising funds that directly support student projects and program operations. These funds make it possible for every Fellow to receive training, mentorship, and project funding at no cost to them.

Each family participates in the Parent Partnership through one of the following two options:

    1. Fundraising Option – Create a Personal Fundraising Page and raise $3,000 through your network of friends, family, and colleagues.

    2. Direct Contribution Option – Make a direct contribution of $2,000 to the Dragon Kim Foundation in support of your child’s Fellowship.

    3.  Financial Hardship -- If you do not have the ability to do either Option, then you must fill out the Financial hardship letter and arrange for alternative arrangements.

This is not a tuition or a program fee — it is a partnership contribution that sustains the Fellowship program and ensures that all students can participate, regardless of financial circumstances.

    7. A True Partnership

The Parent Partnership is not just about funding — it’s about community. When you participate, you join a network of parents who believe in supporting youth leadership, creativity, and service. Your engagement — whether through outreach, storytelling, or generosity — directly helps Fellows bring their ideas to life and magnifies the impact of DKF’s mission across our region.

Together, we are investing in the next generation of changemakers — empowering our children and countless others to “Lead by Starlight.”

    With Appreciation,
    The Dragon Kim Foundation Team
