Projet pilote Éclats de Joie!

Une école citoyenne et vivante : apprendre avec coeur, curiosité et sens

Au Québec comme ailleurs au Canada et aux États-Unis, la santé mentale des enfants et du personnel scolaire s’effrite. Près d'un jeune sur quatre ne veut plus aller à l’école ou s’y sent stressé, et la proportion de jeunes en bonne santé mentale a chuté de 47 % à 37 % en six ans (ISQ, 2023). Plus de la moitié des enseignants vivent une détresse psychologique élevée liée au travail, un constat similaire aux États-Unis où 44 % déclarent être épuisés (CDC, 2024).

Parallèlement, la diversité des profils d’apprentissage s’élargit : environ 1 enfant sur 50 (2 %) au Canada présente un trouble du spectre de l’autisme (TSA), et près de 70 % d’entre eux vivent aussi avec une autre condition comme le TDAH ou un trouble d’apprentissage. Le TDAH touche à lui seul 5 à 7 % des enfants, et près de 1 adulte sur 5 (19 %) aux États-Unis s’identifie comme neurodivergent. Ces données montrent qu’il ne s’agit plus d’une minorité, mais d’une réalité humaine majeure, qui appelle une école capable d’accueillir la diversité des cerveaux, des rythmes et des façons d’apprendre.

Ces chiffres traduisent une réalité urgente : nos écoles doivent redevenir des milieux humains, bienveillants et inspirants, où le bien-être précède la performance et où chaque enfant peut apprendre avec joie et confiance.

Nous, soussignés, exprimons notre intérêt et notre appui envers Éclats de Joie!, une initiative éducative innovante qui met la relation humaine, la diversité des façons d’apprendre et la joie de découvrir au cœur de sa mission, afin que chaque enfant puisse pleinement s’épanouir.

Nous croyons qu’il est temps d’offrir aux enfants un modèle scolaire qui accueille chaque élève dans sa singularité, qu’il soit typique, hypersensible ou présentant un profil atypique, dans un environnement bienveillant, flexible et relationnel qui favorise la régulation émotionnelle, la créativité et l’épanouissement personnel.

Ce qui distingue Éclats de joie! :

• Relations authentiques et bienveillantes, où la confiance et la présence remplacent la performance.

Sound of Joy! Pilot Project

A living, inclusive school: learning with heart, curiosity, and meaning

Across Québec, Canada, and the United States, children’s mental health and the well-being of school staff are in decline. Nearly one in four young people no longer want to attend school or feel stressed while there, and the proportion of youth in good mental health has dropped from 47% to 37% in just six years (ISQ, 2023). More than half of teachers experience high psychological distress related to work, a reality echoed in the United States, where 44% report feeling burned out (CDC, 2024).

At the same time, the diversity of learning profiles is expanding: about 1 in 50 children (2%) in Canada are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and nearly 70% of them also live with another condition such as ADHD or a learning disability. ADHD alone affects 5–7% of children, and nearly 1 in 5 adults (19%) in the United States identify as neurodivergent. These figures show that this is no longer a minority, but a major human reality that calls for schools capable of embracing the diversity of minds, rhythms, and ways of learning.

These numbers reveal an urgent truth: our schools must once again become human, caring, and inspiring environments, where well-being comes before performance and every child can learn with joy and confidence.

We, the undersigned, express our interest in and support for Sound of Joy!, an innovative educational initiative that places human connection, diversity in learning, and the joy of discovery at the heart of its mission to help every child truly flourish.

We believe it is time to offer children a school model that welcomes each child in their uniqueness, whether typical, highly sensitive, or presenting an atypical learning profile, within a caring, flexible, and relational environment that nurtures emotional regulation, creativity, and personal growth.
