Rules for the Rotary Middleton Community Fund
I. Eligibility Criteria
Geographic Benefit: All proposed projects must exclusively benefit the community, groups, or residents within Middleton.
Project Focus: Applications must be for item-specific needs. Funding will only be granted for the purchase of specific, tangible items or services directly related to the project.
Ineligible Costs (Exclusions): The fund will not provide grants for ongoing routine or running costs, entry fees, membership subscriptions, rental fees, or utility costs.
II. Funding Details & Limitations
Standard Grant Limit: The maximum amount available for a single grant will typically be £500.
Exceptional Funding: Grants exceeding £500 will be considered a rarity. Any such grant is only possible in exceptional circumstances and may involve seeking matched funding from Rotary District or other partner Middleton organisations.
Annual Allocation: The total amount available in the fund will be determined annually by the members of Rotary Middleton.
Accountability: Where appropriate, Rotary Middleton reserves the right to request quotes, receipts, and other documentation to ensure the responsible and designated use of funds.
III. Application and Approval Process
Application Schedule: The fund will be open for applications throughout the year.
Review Process: The fund will be administered by the designated Middleton Community Fund Project Lead and Treasurer.
Final Approval: Final approval for all grants is determined by Rotary Middleton members at designated business meetings. A successful outcome is not guaranteed.
IV. Terms & Conditions
Publicity Requirement: Successful applicants must agree to Rotary Middleton using the project for promotional publicity. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing stories, photos, and videos of the project (with appropriate permissions and GDPR compliance).
Fund Replacement: This fund officially replaces the Rotary Middleton Dragon's Den initiative, which will not continue into the 2025/26 programme year.
