  • We won’t collect any personal information about you unless you give it to us voluntarily in this form.  When you complete this form we will ask for your name and contact details so that we can confirm we have received your application and to contact you to discuss it.  One Percent Safer may use this contact information for the purposes of promoting the One Percent Safer Foundation and One Percent Safer generally. 

    All profits from the sale of the One Percent Safer book are directed to the One Percent Safer Foundation—an independently governed charitable fund dedicated to improving workplace safety worldwide.

    The Foundation provides support through two primary avenues:

    • Assistance for OSH Practitioners and Organizations – Offering small grants or support for professional education and development to individual OSH practitioners and their organizations, primarily in low-income regions and areas with high accident rates.
    • Seed Capital for Organizations – Providing small grants or support for education and development to third-sector organizations, voluntary/charitable institutions, and not-for-profit entities (such as community organizations, social enterprises, and cooperatives) that seek to create safer work environments.

  • Streamlined Application Process

    The application Form serves as an initial stage to encourage submissions. If an application progresses, additional details may be requested by the relevant One Percent Safer Foundation committee. The following chart presents overview of application processing, funds granting and reporting process.

  • Suitability Criteria for Applications

    To ensure alignment with the Foundation’s objectives and improve the likelihood of a successful application, the following primary criteria should be considered:

    • Competency Development – Proposals should focus on enhancing the skills and experience of OSH professionals working on-site.
    • Training for Frontline Workers – Applications should support HSE-related training initiatives for frontline workers in low-income regions.
    • Professional Membership Support – Funding may be requested for OSH/HSE professional memberships for individuals in low-income regions.
    • Alignment with Foundation Goals – Proposals should aim to reduce the number of work-related fatalities and must include clear, measurable KPIs to demonstrate impact.

  • Exclusions and Funding Restrictions

    While the Foundation remains open to a broad range of applications, the following are not eligible for funding:

    • Exclusion of Company Obligations – Grants will not be awarded to companies seeking financial support for legally mandated employee training.
    • Funding Restrictions – The Foundation does not provide financial support for:
      • Payment of salaries, insurance payments
      • Purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE)

    Applications for grants from the One Percent Safer Foundation Fund are always welcomed and are treated in strict confidence. 

    We will normally respond to your application within 30 days of receipt.
