Before Reporting A Code Violation
Please confirm that you have reviewed the following common misinterpretations that concerned citizens should consider before reporting a code violation.
All complaints are reviewed by the Fire Marshal’s Office. However, an investigation does not guarantee that a violation exists. Each concern is evaluated against the adopted fire code and city ordinances. If no violation is found, the case will be documented and closed.
Fire code official will perform an unannounced inspection on a potential violation. In many cases, the department cannot disclose investigative findings or enforcement actions due to privacy, security, or ongoing case considerations.
All reports are taken seriously. If you believe there is an immediate fire hazard or life-threatening situation, please call 9-1-1.
