  • Eligibilty for Exhibition - please read carefully:

    • Participant must be a current Oliver Art Center (OAC) member.
    • All work must be original (limited edition lino/woodcut/intaglio okay), and created by the submitting artist.
    • Works must not have previously been exhibited at OAC.
    • Original works in all media will be accepted for consideration, including but not limited to: painting, mixed media, experimental 2D, glass, ceramics, wood, photography, digital media, and other traditional and nontraditional art forms.
    • Digital media artists must include information about the type of digital tools your work is made with. Examples: Fractal art, illustration with digital pen/paper, photoshop effects over original sketch or photo, generative AI, etc etc. (Provide enough information that when a potential buyer asks how your work was made, we can answer them and categorize your work correctly. "Digital Print" is not detailed enough.)
    • Only one entry per artist may be listed as “Not For Sale”.
    • 2D work must be framed/finished as “gallery ready”. If framed, work should be firmly mounted (no taped-on backs), mats should be clean, glass should be clean and not cracked, and larger works (over 10 lbs. or 12") should be wired with D-rings and gallery-grade wire. DO NOT use sawtooth hangers if your work is large or heavy – cleats are preferred. We do not recommend the use of eye hooks - use D-rings instead. We do not recommend the use of plexiglass.
    • OAC reserves the right to decline the inclusion of work that we don’t feel is presented professionally, or is structurally unsound.
    • 3D work must be ready for display. OAC will not accept unbalanced/tipsy sculptures, etc. If special instructions for installation are needed, please discuss this with our Gallery and Program Director, Julie White, prior to submission.
    • Work must be finished and ready for placement at time of delivery. No wet paintings (including varnish or fixative) will be accepted.
  • Entry Procedure:
To be included in the exhibit, works must be photographed and submitted online by the posted deadline, labeled clearly on the back with artist name and title of the work, and delivered to Oliver Art Center on the drop-off dates indicated on this form.

  • Limit two (2) entries per member- Not to exceed 36" x 36" each, without prior approval from Julie White, Gallery Director (gallery@oliverart.org)

  • Exhibit Agreement:

OAC RETAINS THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE INCLUSION AND PLACEMENT OF ARTWORK IN OUR GALLERY SPACES, INCLUDING DISPLAY ELEMENTS, PEDESTALS, HANGERS, AND HARDWARE. OAC WILL NOT ACCEPT WORK THAT POSES POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO OUR FACILITY.

    • Oliver Art Center will accept responsibility for the works of art during the exhibition but will not be responsible for any pieces delivered in damaged condition. We will insure art while in our care per this agreement.
    • OAC will not be held responsible for any damage to works on paper, or of paper, or other fragile mediums that are not thoroughly protected by glass, that completely shields the work from touch, liquid, insects, etc., as in a picture frame, display case, or other highly protective method of presentation.
    • OAC encourages all works of paper and other fragile materials to be protected using the precautionary methods mentioned above, during the entirety of their presence at OAC.
    • OAC will not be held responsible for damage incurred as a result of poor/weak hanging hardware, such as eye hooks, sawtooth hangers, cardboard backing hangers, or frayed wires.
    • OAC will not be held responsible for damage to large/heavy wall sculpture that does not have proper hanging hardware. Call Julie White (231)352-4151 x 102 if you need guidance on this.
    • The art submitted for exhibition will remain the property of the artist until sold.
    • It is agreed that due care will be taken of each piece of art submitted. However, it is also agreed that OAC, and/or its representatives, will not be held liable for situations over which they have no control.
    • The artist agrees to remove the artwork on the dates indicated above. Oliver Art Center is not responsible (and will not insure) art left on our site past the pick-up due dates and may take possession of the work after 30 days.
    • If sold, the artist retains 70% of the retail price. Sales tax will be handled by the OAC. Payment will be mailed to the address provided on this form within approximately 2 weeks of the exhibit's end.
  • By signing below, you are indicating agreement to all terms and conditions listed on this form and you release limited photographic rights to Oliver Art Center for the sole purpose of promoting the exhibit/art center via posting on their website, social media outlets and printed materials.

  • THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUBMISSION!
Unless you hear otherwise from Julie White, plan to bring your work to one of the above-mentioned drop-off days. When you arrive, your work will be inspected to ensure it is gallery-ready. At that time we will also note any damage such as scratched glass or plexi, knicked frame corners, or other condition issues before work will be submitted for hanging.
