Muskoka Arts & Crafts – Championing Our Arts Community

2025 has been a year of growth and success for Muskoka Arts & Crafts (MA&C). Since launching the MA&C Maker Boutique, we are proud to share that in just the first 8 months, the Shop has generated over $27,000 in revenue, directly supporting our artists and makers. All of MA&C's commission structure is based on 30% (outside of any special exhibitions or partnerships). Please note there will also be a 5.9%+.30 Shopify charge for all in store and online transactions. 

As a not-for-profit service organization, MA&C is dedicated to ensuring the success of our arts community. Our mission is to champion craft as a valuable part of everyday life by promoting, celebrating, and advocating for art and craft practices. We provide opportunities for members to showcase their work, offer mentorship and feedback, and create meaningful connections between artists and the public.

The MA&C Maker Boutique plays a vital role in this mission by:

Provide space to generate sales for artists and makers, providing career mentorship and product feedback. We provide public education opportunities showcasing a wide range of practices, from contemporary to traditional, and supporting both emerging and established artists each year. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS

1. Only Active Artist & Maker MA&C Members may apply.
2. All work must be original and reflect the maker’s own ideas.
3. Submitted work should be produced within the last 1–2 years and reflect the applicant's current practice.
4. Objects must be well-made, durable, and functional for their intended purpose.
5. Cards and prints are welcome, but must be high-quality or limited edition.
6. Work may be presented on a rotational/seasonal basis, with Shop staff determining the length of representation.
7. High-quality photos with bright lighting and a white background are required for promotional use on social media and our Shopify site.                                            8. Work will not be accepted without high quality professional photos.                      9. The Artist must have an active profile on our member directory to create their collection. You can create and manage this within our FREE APP. Find your membership info under the profile.  VIDEO LINK & WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS. Please do this ASAP we cannot approve your aplication without your profile.                      10. All items dropped off must have a small professional sticker or label with your name/company name and price.

All work must be handmade. This application will be reviewed and juried for our MA&C Maker Boutique. 

CONSIGNMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

1) Applicants must be active MA&C Artist & Maker Members.

2) Upon sale of any item, MA&C shall pay the member 70% of the retail sale price minus the shopify fees (5.9%+.30) on every transaction. Payments will be issued at the end of every month if the artist has reached $100 in sales for that month. Otherwise, they will be paid when sales have reached $100+ or year end. 

3) MA&C does not insure the consignment work on site. If you require insurance, you must make your own prior arrangements. Please note that by signing this application, you are waiving all claims for damage, theft and all losses.

4) Consigned work must be delivered to MA&C on MAIN and picked up from MA&C on MAIN by the member, unless otherwise arranged and agreed upon in advance by both parties.

5) The member will be solely responsible for the work during shipping and delivery. 

6) HST will be paid to members who provide their HST registration in advance.

OPTION ONE

By signing this agreement you are waiving and removing:

I waive, release, & discharge, from any and all liability against Muskoka Arts & Crafts, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, fire, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this activity, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers. MA&C's INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER ANY ARTWORK OF CRAFT ON OUR PREMISE. 

OPTION TWO INSURANCE REQUIRMENTS

1. Provide proof of insurance
2. Please provide proof of valid insurance in the form of a certificate of insurance as follows ;
3. List certificate holder and additional insured as: Muskoka Arts & Crafts Inc. 63 Manitoba Street Bracebridge, ON P1L 2B2 (we must be named on certificate)
4. Minimum Commercial General Liability limit of $1 Million
6. Insurance must be maintained in force for the full period of the showcase.
