Three Tournaments: For those under 12; under 15; and under 18 on the day of the event.
Entry fee for all tournaments: £15 (£10 for members of Broadland Junior Chess Club). Voluntary donations welcomed.
Prizes
All participants will receive a medal and certificate of participation. In addition, there will be trophies for section winners, book prizes for meritorious performance and Amazon vouchers for the highest placed players in each section.
Time Limit: 10 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move. This will be explained at the beginning for those new to competitive chess.

This is a 6 round Swiss event, participants play in every round. It may be necessary for some players to receive a full point bye although, as far as possible, this will be avoided, and no player will receive more than one bye.
Sections may be merged or split dependent on entries.
English Chess Federation Membership: Entrants are required to be English Chess Federation members at bronze level or above. First year junior membership with the English Chess Federation is free. Closing Date for Entries: As space is limited, entries received after Monday 9th February 2026 may not be accepted, please email broadlandchessclub@gmail.com to confirm.
LUNCH 12.45-13.30. The Longboats and Lattes Café is next door to the Ragnar Hall for refreshments and snacks, please feel free to bring your own packed lunch, not to be eaten in the Longboats and Lattes Café.
The prizegiving will be at 16.00 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Parental responsibility
Parents or guardians are responsible for their children during the tournament. The organisers and helpers are not able to act “in loco parentis” and are not able to take responsibility for any child’s actions, or for the actions of anyone that may affect your child. All players under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian on-site at all times.
