MDS-PAS Visiting Trainee Grant Application

Thank you for your interest in the International Parkinson andMovement Disorder Society - Pan American Section (MDS-PAS) Visiting TraineeGrant (VTG) Program. The MDS-PAS VTG Program is designed to support youngneurologists, researchers, and allied health professionals who wish to enhancetheir education in movement disorders through training opportunities notavailable in their current location.
To be eligible for the MDS-PAS Visiting Trainee Grant, applicants must:
1. Reside in a country within the Pan American Section (MDS-PAS), as indicated in their MDS membership profile. Applications will be cross-checked with the profile address. Applicants who do not reside within the Pan American Section will not be considered.
2. Be a resident, fellow, or trainee in general neurology or movement disorders, or have completed training such as a master's degree, graduate program, or PhD in movement disorders research (specifically related to the basal ganglia), and apply for a program outside of your country of residence, but within the Pan American Section.
All materials must be submitted in English.

Supplemental documents must be submitted at the time of application submission.

The grant is intended for one of the following types of programs:
- Clinical Program: The Clinical Visiting Trainee Grant is for applicants who want to expand their knowledge in movement disorders, improve their ability to recognize patterns in movement disorders, enhance their skills in diagnosing and managing movement disorder patients, and ultimately apply these clinical skills in their home country within the Pan American Section.
- Research Program: The Research Visiting Trainee Grant is for applicants who wish to develop or advance a research program, contribute to an ongoing research project, and collaborate with other researchers. The goal is to continue research efforts upon returning to their home country within the Pan American Section.
- Health Professional Program: The Health Professional Visiting Trainee Grant is for applicants who aim to enhance their knowledge in the care of patients with movement disorders, with the goal of applying these skills in their home country.
Award Details:The award amounts are approximate and intended to help cover training program expenses. The grant can support programs of the following durations:
- Six weeks: $4,645 USD
- Six months: $9,280 USD
- One year: $18,575 USD
You will be responsible for providing your own medical insurance during the training.

The VTG training must begin within six months of the acceptance notification.
