About the Program
The Prevent Another Litter Subsidy (PALS) is offered in partnership with the City of Edmonton to support low-income residents in Edmonton and surrounding communities (within 200 km).
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Cat is 4 months to 6 years old
- Cat is not on medication and has no chronic health conditions
- Applicant lives within 200 km of Edmonton
- Applicant meets the Canadian Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines (see income section for details)
- Maximum of six (6) pets per household may be spayed/neutered through this program
Fees
- $40 non-refundable admin fee per cat
- Proof of income and payment must be submitted with your application
Application & Appointment Timeline
- Processing time: Up to 15 business days
- Appointments: Typically scheduled 2 months in advance
- Mobile unit availability (May–August): Tuesdays and Wednesday only
- If the location on the form does not suit you, please wait until the next application month, as different locations will be available.
Note: Priority may be given to applicants who face transportation barriers or live closest to a clinic location.
