  • What is a Statutory Demand?

    If the debt is over $4,000 and there is no genuine dispute, we can issue a Statutory Demand within 24 hours for $196.

    This is a powerful legal step. It requires the debtor to either:

    1. Pay the debt;
    2. Go to court to dispute it; or
    3. Risk being wound up.

    Important:

    If the debtor successfully proves there is a genuine dispute, the court may order you to pay their legal costs.

    If you are unsure, choose “Talk to a solicitor” before proceeding.

    To issue a statutory demand, we will send you a form to sign before a Justice of the Peace or Solicitor, confirming that the debt is owing. You may sign it at our office at no extra cost.
