Waiver of Liability
This agreement releases Lawrence County Christmas on the Square and H. A. Alexander Park from all liability relating to injuries that may occur during “Christmas on the Square” event being held on H. A. Alexander Park property. By signing this agreement, I agree to hold the Lawrence County Christmas on the Square and H. A. Alexander Park entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
I also acknowledge the risks involved in “Christmas on the Square”. These include but are not limited to damage and theft to ornaments and decorations, personal property damage, hazards that develop within displays, stability and collapse of additional structures or decoration within assigned area, welfare of live props, vandalism, and acts of bad weather. I swear that I am participating voluntarily, and that all risks have been made clear to me. Additionally, I do not have any conditions that will increase my likelihood of experiencing injuries while engaging in this activity and hosting or decorating select areas and trees.
By signing below, I forfeit all right to bring a suit, mediation, or complaint against Lawrence County Christmas on the Square Committee or H. A. Alexander Park for any reason. I understand that tree selection is based on a first come first served basis. You will be provided with signage to mark your tree for the duration of the event, as well as written guidelines for decorating your tree. By signing, you agree to make every effort to obey safety precautions as listed in writing and included in your registration packet. You will agree to ask the appropriate person for clarification of guidelines when needed.
