    Dates: April 5–11, 2026
    Location: Alta Gracia, Córdoba, Argentina


    Eligibility Criteria


    By submitting your application, you confirm that you meet the following requirements for the WFDYS Junior Camp Leader position:

    You are aged between 21 and 30 years old (born on or between April 6, 1995, and April 5, 2005).

    You are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

    You are fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) or another sign language, and you are willing to learn International Sign before attending the WFDYS Camp.


    You will be primarily responsible for the participants from your country and will also take part in overall camp activities under the direction of the Camp Organizing Committee (COC).


    You have experience planning and running a previous camp (local, regional, or national).


    You have no criminal convictions (or pending charges) and agree to Deaf Youth Canada (DYC) completing a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.


    You have a strong passion for leadership and are willing to share your learning experiences with the Canadian Deaf Community after returning from the camp.

    You understand and agree that Deaf Youth Canada will not cover the full cost of attending the camp. You will need to fundraise or contribute the remaining amount yourself. DYC will gladly support you with fundraising letters, event planning, and donation outreach.

    Camp Fees & Additional Costs
    Camp Registration Fee: €350 (approximately $570 CAD)

    Must be received by November 30, 2025.

    Additional Costs:

    Flights / Transportation
    Food and other personal expenses
    If needed, a payment plan can be arranged.

    Please note that Deaf Youth Canada is not responsible for managing your personal funds.


    Selection Process


    The Selection Panel will consist of Deaf Youth Canada leadership members, who will evaluate applications based on the criteria listed above and additional factors such as attitude, leadership qualities, and community involvement.

    We are seeking a leader who:

    Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility,
    Will represent Deaf Youth Canada proudly on an international stage, and
    Actively contributes to the Deaf community in Canada.

    Deaf Youth Canada select up to two (2) campes / (1 Leader) from Canada, following WFDYS camp participation limits.

    Leaders are required to supervise campers full-time from the date of departure until all participants are safely reunited with their parents/guardians after the camp.


    Support from Deaf Youth Canada


    The Deaf Youth Canada Board and Committee are committed to supporting the selected leader leading up to the camp. Support may include:

    Assistance with fundraising events and sponsorships
    International Sign language learning opportunities
    Mentorship before, during, and after the camp
    Logistical support for flights, accommodations, registration, and safety arrangements

    A child is behaving disrespectfully toward a participant from another country.
