    This form must be filled out prior to event unless otherwise agreed upon. Permit is FREE OF CHARGE. NO Potentially Hazardous Foods are allowed to be sold under a Cottage Baker Permit. Cheesecakes, Cream Cheese icing, focaccia bread, no sugar/low-sugar jams and jellies, hot pepper jam/jelly, meats, eggs, dairy products, ect. are potentially hazardous foods. ONLY Non-Potentially Hazardous foods are allowed: Such as Kettle Corn, Cakes, Cookies, Brownies, Fruit Pies, jams and jellies of regular recipe, etc.… For additional questions, please call our office 573-324-2111 x113

  • Potentially Hazardous Foods are those foods that require heat or cooling to maintain safety. Examples are: meat, milk, cut fruits and vegetables, fish, cream pies, etc…

    Not-Potentially Hazardous items are usually called shelf stable. Some examples are: kettle corn, cakes, cookies, brownies, pre-packaged potato chips, candy bars, etc…

  • Missouri cottage food product labels MUST include: 

    • the name and address of the producer,
    • the common name of the food,
    • all ingredients in descending order of predominance, 
    • the net weight, and
    • a mandatory statement must also appear on the label stating, "This product is prepared in a kitchen that is not subject to inspection by the Department of Health"
