Ontario Weightlifting Association – Call for Social Media Administrators
The Ontario Weightlifting Association (OWA) is seeking enthusiastic and skilled volunteers to join our Social Media Team! This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sport promotion, community engagement, and creative digital communication.
Role Overview
Social Media Administrators collaborate with the OWA Board and fellow administrators to plan, create, and share engaging content that represents Ontario’s weightlifting community in a positive, inclusive, and professional manner. Administrators help maintain a consistent online presence across OWA’s platforms, highlighting athletes, clubs, officials, and events while promoting the sport at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a shared content calendar and posting schedule.
- Create and share engaging posts (text, graphics, video) that align with OWA branding and values.
- Provide timely coverage of events, announcements, and community highlights.
- Monitor OWA social channels for messages and comments, responding in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Collaborate regularly with the OWA President, VP Membership, and other administrators to ensure consistency and coordination.
- Uphold OWA communication standards—avoiding political, commercial, or divisive content—and represent all members fairly.

Commitment
Approximately 2–4 hours per week, with flexibility for event periods.
Attendance at monthly virtual team meetings.
