  • 2.2 Post qualifying and specialist training

    In addition to the qualifying training listed above, please add all additional post qualifying taught courses undertaken. Courses listed should include any that support specialist areas of your current practice, e.g. couples counselling, working with children and young people, trauma, eating disorders etc. Post qualifying and specialist training may be carried out through in-person presence and/or remote synchronous on-line training environments.

    If you have completed one or more training courses that have significantly enhanced the depth or range of your practice, for example a 60-hour diploma in attachment theory, please include these in 2.1 or 2.2.

    We would expect to see a variety of CPD activities which may include online courses, face to face courses, reading books and journal articles, listening to podcasts etc.

  • 5.1 Details of current supervision

    Please describe the current arrangements you have for supervision of your counselling practice.

    Please let us know of any specialist areas of practice and/or client groups. Examples may include, but are not limited to, complex trauma, eating disorders, addiction, EMDR, psychosexual therapy, working with children and young people, couples, families.

    Please provide information about how your work with your specialisms is covered by supervision. You may state that your usual supervisor covers all areas of your work. However, if your usual supervisor does not or is not able to supervise any specialism, demonstrate how this work is supervised, e.g., through specialist peer group supervision, support from specialist professional networks, etc.

  • 5.3 Details of supervisor for accreditation reference 

    If you have more than one current supervisor, please choose the supervisor who has supervised the majority of your counselling practice hours, to provide a reference for you and confirm your practice hours. Please feel free to request a reference from more than one supervisor if you feel that it would support your application to do so. This may be the case, for example, if you have a supervisor who acts in a consultancy role for a specialist area of your practice. You will be asked in 5.5 to send a reference form to your supervisor(s).

    Normally, we would not accept references from peer supervisors; please contact us if this presents a problem.

    Please ensure that you have explicit consent to record your supervisor's name and contact details as requested on this form.

  • 5.4 Use of and learning from supervision

    Review and evaluate your current supervision arrangements and how they support your practice. Describe how you adapt your supervision to meet the ongoing changes in your practice.

    Your answer will be assessed against SCoPEd B Competence 5.6.B – ‘The ability to review and evaluate supervision arrangements and take responsibility for adapting supervision to the evolving and changing requirements of ongoing practice’.
