  • DIY / Add-On Kits
--Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class.
--How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best.

  • NOTE:

This doesn't guarentee your registration. You will get an email with payment information & only when payment is received is your registration complete.

  • There is a lot of information below - but it's worth the read through to make sure you've covered all of the ins & outs of the class! So excited to decorate with you!

  • About the In-Person Class!

Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Three Asters is here to help! In this 1.5-hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron).

We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!

You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, cancelations, and FAQs are below - looking forward to having you with us.

This class is on November 23, 2025 and starts at 12pm and ends at 1:30pm sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 20 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!

This class is good for ages 10 and up, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!

The class will be held at Lion's Tail Brewery located at 8520 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI.

  • FAQ

What will I be doing in the class?

Besides having the most fun ever? We will be going over some cookie facts, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you will take home with you that day.

Can I purchase an additional take-home kit?

Yes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-do the classes. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class - so don't forget it! If you’re skipping class and just ordering the kit – swing by anytime during class to sneak in and pick it up – it’ll be labeled with your name!

Do I need to know how to bake?

Nope! No baking experience required. We will have the cookies pre-made for you along with the icing already mixed and colored. Have a little decorating experience under your belt… er… apron? Come join us, too! I can help with questions on icing mixing and dough spread!

What will we learn in class?

You’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing, the value of different icing consistencies – we’ll touch on tips and tricks to make your cookies look even better than they taste (and they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme such as marbling, outlining, wet-on-wet, brush embroidery, and painting. Or hey – go off script and make your own designs – it’s your class!

What do I need to bring?

Nothing but a smile! Everything will be provided for you including my (rather tasty) sugar cookies. All you need to do is join us and have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring your own apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing. There is a PowerPoint for reference, so if you wear glasses, we'd encourage you to bring them as well. Oh – and bring your phone – I love photos!

What age is best for cookie classes?

Our classes are for almost any age! From youngsters to grandparents - come on in and have some cookie fun with us! Our in-person classes are great for ages 10 and up; however, due to it being at a brewery, any kids under 16 will need a parent taking the class as well. If you think your child may be too young to enjoy the in-person class, purchase an additional take-home kit! We'll send you the class PowerPoint, and you can teach your kids in the comfort of your own home.

Can just my child take the class?

Due to space restrictions, we do not have room for parents to stand by and watch their children in class. So unfortunately, your adorable kiddo cannot take the class alone. A parent must also purchase a ticket and take the class as well - but I promise you this - it's super fun for all involved!

    What will I bring home?

By the end of the class, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24 - 48 hours in their own box. I’ll send you an Amazon link with a list of the tools we used in class so that you can recreate these cookies at home. And of course, you’ll have new skills, memories, and fun!

Can I sign up as an individual or as a group?

You can sign up either as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We are limited to a total of 20 seats per class, so definitely sign-up ASAP!

    Where are the classes located?

This class will be held at Lion's Tail Brewery; located at 8520 W North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53213

I signed up for a class but can't make it - what do I do?

:( We understand that life happens so that’s why we allow you to cancel up to 7 days before the class. You can always transfer your spot to a friend though (and what a nice friend you are). Any cancelation after the 7 days will roll you into the next upcoming class. Please read below for our Cancelation Policies.

  • Need to Cancel? Here's what you need to know!

🗓️ If need to cancel 7+ days before class:

If you can't make it because plans changed or if you’re sick prior to the 7-day refund cutoff, you can cancel for a full refund! And might we say thank you for sittin' this one out. To request a refund, just email me at threeastersbakery@gmail.com

🗓️ If need to cancel 6 days before class starts:

No sweat - life happens - you can transfer your ticket! Email us at hello@sugarcookiemarketing.com, and we'll pass your ticket onto your friend. That will also apply to a DIY Kit if you purchased one as well.

🚗 You can't make it the day of class, and you've email before class starts:

Car troubles? Traffic? Email us before your class's start time. While we can't offer a refund or a credit, we can box up your class supplies and schedule a time for you to porch pick-up the box to decorate at home within 5 days of the end of class. Note - we can't guarantee freshness for unsealed class cookies.

📨 You don't show up or email prior to class:

If you do not request a refund 7 days prior to class, we won’t be able to offer you a refund, credit, or porch pick-up. 😞 So please reach out to us before your class starts!

✌️ You purchased BOTH a Class Take-Home Kit and a Class Ticket and need to cancel:

If you purchased both a class ticket and a take-home kit and emailed prior to the 7-day refund policy, we'll be happy to offer you a full refund. If it's after the 7-day cut-off, you can transfer your ticket and your DIY kit to a friend. If we don't hear from ya, the left-over product will be donated.

    ⚠️ If you're sick - here's our cancelation policy.

Note - if you don't cancel before 7 days, you can give your ticket to a friend to attend in your place. Unfortunately after 7 days, no refunds but we can roll your registration into an upcoming class.

  • Things to Bring

Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!

*Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).
*Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet.
*Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone!
*Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

  • Things to Note!

⚠️🥚 Allergens: Eggs, gluten, and nuts are present in the kitchen used to bake these cookies and icing. Please consider your allergies before registering.

🧀 Say Cheese! Photos are taken throughout class (and posted to our Facebook page so you can see them too). Camera shy? 📸 No sweat! Just let us know it's a camera no-no.

Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund and the sincerest apologies. A makeup class will be scheduled if the venue is available.
Classes with attendance below 5 guests will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either have your ticket moved to a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance 5 before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.

Weather Policy: Sometimes Jack Frost doesn’t play well with cookie class schedules, and Mother Nature seems to be takin’ notes. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event but rest assured – we’ll figure something out!
