The Frances Clark Center is pleased to open applications for the Post-Graduate Teaching Program at the New School for Music Study (NSMS), designed to provide exceptional professional development for emerging piano educators. This program aims to equip participants with the teaching skills, mentorship, and practical experience necessary to become innovative educators and leaders in piano education. Through personalized mentorship, teaching opportunities, and career-focused seminars, the program supports the unique goals of participants and encourages meaningful community engagement.

Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for the Post-Graduate Teaching Program, applicants must possess a strong academic background in piano, demonstrate active performance experience, and hold a minimum of a Master’s degree.
Program Details
Location: New School for Music Study, Kingston, NJ
Duration: Mid-August 2026 – June 2027
Compensation: Monthly stipend provided from October through July (divided over 10 months)
Teaching Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week, plus coursework, mentorship, and guided observations
Second-Year Opportunity
Participants who successfully complete the first year of the Post-Graduate Teaching Program may be invited to continue for a second year of advanced study. The second year provides an opportunity to further refine teaching skills, deepen pedagogical expertise, and expand professional projects under continued mentorship. Returning fellows may take on enhanced teaching responsibilities, mentorship of new participants, and research initiatives, allowing for sustained professional growth and deeper engagement with the NSMS teaching philosophy.
