1) completed application (include separate page for clubs, jobs, etc if applicable)

2) copy of most recent transcript including school name and GPA

3) 450-500 word essay on the assigned topic

4) copy of your Driver's License or certified mail to prove your residency

Essay Topic Fall 2025: Select three practices from the Backyard Conservation Program at www.kyfccd.org/backyardconservation, and discuss their benefits and impacts on urban conservation efforts. You must site your sources and extra points awarded for a 3.5 essay.

Eligibility: Applicant must be a valid resident of Fayette County, KY; must be enrolled in community college, college, or university (anywhere in the world!) with a declared major or minor in agriculture, natural resources, environmental science, or related discipline; must possess a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

This program is offered by FCCD to fund a one-time scholarship payment of $2,000.00. Second and third place awards of $1,000.00 will also be granted on a one-time basis.
