    FOR SECTION H, APPLICANTS MUST ALSO COMPLETE
    THE PARTS PERTAINING TO THE SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIP BEING SOUGHT.

    Note: While applicants can apply for all scholarships (if they qualify), only one MANA award will be provided to selected applicants. Applicants applying to more than one scholarship must submit one essay answering all questions listed under each section of the selected scholarship(s).

    APPLICANTS APPLYING FOR MULTIPLE SCHOLARSHIPS MUST ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS FOR EACH SELECTED SCHOLARSHIP IN THEIR ESSAY.

    • Part I: ONLY to be completed if you are interested in applying for the MANA de Metro Detroit General Scholarship. 
    • MANA de Metro Detroit General Scholarship

      Eligibility: Women of Hispanic/Latina origin, seeking a degree in any field other than those described in Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V or Part VI.
    • Additional Document Required:


      Part I, Section A: Provide a 1-2 page essay talking about yourself, your experiences, and your plans as they relate to your future, your educational goals, and your community involvement. Incorporate in your statement what courses you have completed or will be completing in preparation for your chosen field? How will your chosen field improve your life and/or help give back to your community?

      Note: If you are applying to more than one scholarship, please include 2-3 paragraphs in your essay answering the questions listed above. 

    • Part II:  ONLY to be completed if you are interested in applying for the Carmen Muñoz Entrepreneurship Scholarship.  
    • Carmen Muñoz Entrepreneurship Scholarship

      Eligibility: Women of Hispanic/Latina origin, seeking a degree in business or entrepreneurship.
    • Additional Section Required:

      Part II, Section A: Provide a 1-2 page essay on your business and entrepreneurship goals/experiences. Incorporate in your statement what relevant courses you have completed or will be completing in preparation for your chosen field. How will your chosen field improve your life and/or help give back to your community?

      Note: If you are applying to more than one scholarship, please include 2-3 paragraphs in your essay answering the questions listed above.

    • Part III.  ONLY to be completed if you are interested in applying for the Monica L. Martinez Leadership Scholarship.  
    • Monica L. Martinez Leadership Scholarship

      Eligibility: Women of Hispanic/Latina origin, seeking a degree in one of these areas: (1) Management/Administration in business, education, human resources, health and related fields; (2) Leadership and Organization Development (3) Communication or Public Relations (4) Public Policy or Political Science.
    • Additional Document Required: 

      Part III, Section A: Provide a 1-2 page essay on your leadership goals/experiences. Relate those goals/experiences to any of the following fields: business, education, human resources, healthcare, community organizing, public relations, or political science. What relevant courses have you completed or will be completing in preparation for your chosen field? How will your chosen field improve your life and/or help give back to your community?

      Note: If you are applying to more than one scholarship, please include 2-3 paragraphs in your essay answering the questions listed above.

    • Part IV: ONLY to be completed if you are interested in applying for the Dr. Ellen Ochoa STEM Scholarship.  STEM awards focus on the following fields: Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. 
    • Dr. Ellen Ochoa STEM Scholarship 

      Eligibility: Women of Hispanic/Latina origin, seeking a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
    • Additional Document Required: 

      Part IV, Section A: Provide a 1-2 page essay on your interest in a STEM field.  Incorporate the following in your statement: your field of interest and why, what relevant courses have you completed or will be completing in preparation for your chosen STEM field? Have you already earned a qualifying degree in a STEM field? How will your chosen field improve your life and/or help give back to your community?

      Note: If you are applying to more than one scholarship, please include 2-3 paragraphs in your essay answering the questions listed above.

    • Part V: ONLY to be completed if you are interested in applying for the Gloria Rosas Education Scholarship. 
    • Gloria Rosas Teacher Education Scholarship:

      Eligibility: Women of Hispanic/Latina origin, seeking a degree in Teacher Education. Preference will be given to those that are seeking an additional endorsement in Bilingual Education or English as a second language.
    • Additional Document Required: 

      Part V, Section A: Provide a 1-2 page essay as to what motivates you to be a teacher? Incorporate in your statement what relevant courses you have completed or are planning on completing in preparation for a career in Education. Have you already earned a teacher certification? How will your chosen field improve your life and/or help give back to your community?

      Note: If you are applying to more than one scholarship, please include 2-3 paragraphs in your essay answering the questions listed above.

    • Part VI: ONLY to be completed if you are interested in applying for the Eva Garza Dewaelsche Community Service Scholarship. 
    • Eva Garza Dewaelsche Community Service Scholarship

      Eligibility: Women of Hispanic/Latina origin, seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of these areas: (1) Social Sciences (2) Social Work (3) Community Organizing (4) Urban Planning or, (5) a professional certificate of two or more years from a vocational school, training center or leadership program.
    • Additional Document Required: 

      Part VI, Section A: Provide a 1-2 page essay talking about your goals, past experiences, and future plans as they relate to your chosen field. Incorporate in your statement what relevant courses you have completed or will be completing in preparation for your chosen field. How will your chosen field improve your life and/or help give back to your community?

      Note: If you are applying to more than one scholarship, please include 2-3 paragraphs in your essay answering the questions listed above.
