Ministry Discernment Day '26: Person, Place, & Provisions
Join us for Ministry Discernment Day! This event is designed to equip participants with tools to reflect on how and where God may be calling them. Whether you're sensing a call to ordained ministry, wondering how your gifts might serve God and community through lay leadership, or contemplating the next phase of your life's path, you're invited to explore that journey with us.
The program includes a presentation on discernment practices, time for self-reflection, large group panels, small group conversations, worship, and a complimentary lunch. This all-day event is sponsored by the Commission on Ministry (COM).
If you are considering a formal application to the diaconate or priesthood and plan to appear before a diocesan discernment panel in 2027, you are required to attend this discernment day with your clergy-in-charge, who would serve as your sponsor throughout the discernment process. Both you and your clergy-in-charge are asked to register for the event.
To support thoughtful and well-grounded discernment at the congregational level, the diocese encourages participants to have an established, meaningful relationship with their clergy-in-charge of at least one year by October 1, 2026. Those in newer clergy relationships are welcome to reach out to the Canon for Leadership Development to discuss appropriate next steps.
During the day, we will review the application and formation process and be available to answer questions.
For more information, please contact the Canon for Leadership Development, Mr. Russ Tripi, at rtripi@dohio.org.
For sake of meal count stewardship, please register only if you are certain you will attend.
REGISTRATION CLOSES on Tuesday, March 31, 2026!
